Stuffing!!!!!!! Also rolls, green bean casserole & mashed potatoes. I couldn't care less about the turkey. To me it's just a baking dish for the stuffing!
Because I work retail I requested off for the whole weekend over 2 months ago and in order to get it I had to work 9 days in a row. So I am looking forward to having my first weekend off in over a month!

Ugh I have to work tomorrow and Thursday and then sat and Sunday. So I am not going to be able to see my family, I am really sad about it because my brother is flying in from California. Then he is going to leave EARLY friday morning with my lil sister. So I am actually kind of bummed about it. I have to work christmas eve and christmas and I won't have time to see my family then either. So long story short I am not looking forward to anything.
I'm a special snowflake. I'm not looking forward to it at all. Dreading it is more accurate.
Honestly, I'm really not either. The 30th is the one year anniversary of my MIL's death. FIL decided thanksgiving is a great time to bring together his kids and his new fiance's kids for the first time. I usually keep my family drama off TB, but this is going to be awkward and unpleasant at best. That's probably why it's 10 pm and I haven't started packing to leave tomorrow morning.

I don't blame you. My dad did the same thing with his fiance's kids last Christmas and it was a disaster. So awkward.
My h is a holiday hater and I'm so tired of being the only one participating. My parents are divorced and can't be civil so I have to choose which to see on holidays.
My dad is just an arrogant jerk and I don't like him all that much anyway, but he makes it easier because he would rather be a part of his fiance's family than his own. My mom is loud and dramatic. She takes everything personally and holds grudges forever.
My brother is the only one I really want to spend time with, but my family is deprioritized EVERY HOLIDAY EVERY YEAR in favor of my SIL's family. I'm just tired of being an afterthought for him. They actually invited us over (to their house) but his MIL insisted that she'd rather keep it small this year and "immediate" family only. Funny how her family qualifies but mine does not. So we were unceremoniously uninvited. Nice that my brother's MIL gets to make decisions for his home.
To top if off, now if there's going to be a Thanksgoving meal for my family, my mom, and my FIL, I have to cook. I usually don't mind but I'm supposed to be resting as much as possible and really don't feel up to it. I also don't eat meat. I don't touch meat, I don't buy meat, I don't deal with it. I don't support the industry and I morally object. And I have to buy a turkey for the people in my family who want it. I told my mother that I'll buy it, but she has to cook it herself.
I don't like any of the thanksgiving food. I usually just eat corn and mashed potatoes and a little piece of turkey. Hubby and i meet his brother at the bar so him and I could eat good food. My BIL hates turkey as well.
Okay, I was hungry when I started reading this. Now, daaaaamn I need to eat.
I voted seeing family, but side dishes are definitely next. It can be tricky as a vegan, but I know for sure I'll be able to have the green bean casserole and the sweet potatoes... so excited :-D

I am excited about the broccoli casserole. And the macaroni. And if someone had peaches, I might cry tears of joy, but peaches aren't normally on the menu. I might have to go on a mission for that...
Broccoli salad, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, jellied cranberries straight out the can, and Stove Top Stuffing. Aw yiss.
Coming in at a very close second is the post-Thanksgiving breakfast leftover sandwich: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberries on bread or leftover rolls. Orgasmic.
Telling our families! They still don't know and it's the hardest secret I've ever had to keep, but I really wanted to tell them in person. Can't wait for my mom's reaction! After that... Pie and corn cheese casserole. Mmmmm!
Homemade green bean casserole (made with a roux instead of canned soup!). Stuffing. Pumpkin torte. Cheesy potato casserole (roux again and extra cheese!) Oh my! Delicious!

Whew. Ok. Thanks for letting me get that out.
I'm growing to hate the holidays.
