I need a good tried and true mac 'n' cheese recipe. Anybody have one? The one I used last year totally bombed yesterday, so I don't want to repeat that on Thursday. Bonus points if it's a crockpot recipe.

Re: Mac 'n' cheese
Ok, I will post it on here then too
And it involves Cracker Barrel extra sharp cheddar cheese. That is key!
Equal parts noodles and milk. (I usually do a cup of each, but you can make more or less. Whatever.)
A little butter.
Lid ON.
Med-high heat until it starts to boil. Stir and turn it down to low.
Let simmer 10 min, or however long your noodles take.
Stir in a little cream cheese til it melts. (1-2T)
Stir in shredded cheese.. Half the amount of noodles you used.
Salt and pepper to taste.
*the cream cheese step can be eliminated.
Grease square 9x9 baking dish
Measure out 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbows, whatever). Cook until al dente. Drain.
Combine:
Cooked Pasta
1 lb cheese (save some to put on top!)
1/2 stick butter
2 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
Salt & pepper as desired
Bake for 30 minutes at 375 F.
This is my go to Mac and Cheese recipe. It's been a hit with friends in the past and is super easy.
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."
Golly gee whiz how did I forget?!? I have it in paper form only so Ill have to snap a pic when I'm home next. It looks a lot like the Alton Brown recipe mentioned above, but a little different and, again, Cracker Barrel Extra Sharp Cheddar is key. Hopefully I will remember tonight!
