I think my 10 month old knows that I'm pregnant. Whenever I lay on the floor she crawls over and kisses my belly. I've had my husband lay on the floor to see what she does and she just touches his face. Like my title says I'm sure it sounds crazy. but it really makes me wonder.

I DO feel like kids have a sense of these things

I think (3 1/2 yo) dd has a feeling about it too - she has been putting dolls & toys under her shirt the last few week saying 'the baby can't come out until it's bigger'

I can't tell her yet though - she'll just blab to everyone!!

We "told" our 1.5 year old. We ask her all the time where her hair, eyes, feet, etc are and she points. Well now when we ask "where's the baby" she pulls up my shirt and points to my belly.

I don't think it's crazy at all. I'm sure she's not thinking, "Mom's knocked up!" But she could well be picking up on something going on in there. After all, she was in there not that long ago.

This will sound equally crazy to some people, but one of the first things we noticed that made us think I was pregnant was that my favorite cat, who usually curls up next to me to watch TV, started sleeping directly on top of my belly. And if I moved or picked up a book, he would cry until he could get back on my belly. And as things have progressed, he's spending more time on my belly -- including sleeping semi-upright, leaning against my belly when I go to bed at night -- purring the whole time.

I am convinced he understands something is going on.

That is funny! I went over to a friend's house who has a cat last week. I have been at her house a ton for the past few years and their cat has never paid me any attention. This time, the cat sat on my lap and stayed there for 30 minutes, just purring and cuddling with me.

My dog has been much more affectionate. Normally he is DH's dog, but now if I am in the room he NEEDS to cuddle with me! I love it!

DD has been wanting me all the time this last week. She's no usually so needy and if she is she doesn't have a preference between me and DH. All of a sudden it's mommy non stop! So I definitely think kids can sense it.

Our 2.5 year old has been super lovey in the last month, running over to me randomly saying "mommy mommy" and snuggling or kissing me. She wasn't like that just two months ago.

The other day on the way homed rom the grocery store my DD asked me "is there a baby in your tummy?" I tested last week and got a BFN but AF was late so it was an odd coincidence that she asked... Little did she know that I would test today and get a BFP! When I was pregnant with DD one of the first things we notice was that our yellow lab would not leave my side, we swear she knew before we didi!

My dog is aware too. She keeps stopping to sniff my belly and has been very sweet with me. We tried to point out DH's belly to her but she didn't care about his in the least.

I agree with the animals knowing. My cat did the same thing (actually it was my brother's cat and we took her since he couldn't have animals in his apartment). Little did I know he did not get her fixed and she was expecting too lol. Our dogs knew as well. The lab was very protective. My silky was not thrilled since she was my first baby and she got demoted to the uber cute doggie bed that she despised. DS is very very clingy now. He is not a child that likes to be held, but now he only wants me.

My almost three year old son is a bit of a mommy's boy anyway but lately all he wants is me and my cat who hasn't wanted to sleep by me in ages has been laying on me and sleeping by me and purring...I feel so loved

My cat, who is partial to my boyfriend, started sleeping on my lap a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I've had Flagstaff for over 12 years and he has NEVER slept near me, on me or sat on me before. It's so weird. It's like he has an addiction now. As soon as I stretch out on the couch he jumps up on me.

yeah, not comparing kids to dogs, but my dog has been super cuddly and right up my butt this past month! And she has NEVER been a cuddler, she really dislikes being near anyone especially when she wants to lay down, but if I even go near the couch she is right there...she knows!

I think animals and babies/children have extra senses about this stuff. My Aussie follows me everywhere while I'm pregnant, and will not wrestle with me. It's like he knows. He will also curl up on the couch and put his head on my belly. He is usually much more attached to DH. My 14 month old also seems to know, he keeps patting my belly. I told him all about him being a big brother, but I really don't know how much he understands.
