Do you go Black Friday shopping? No. I hate it. I hate people so why would I swim through a sea of them just for a good deal on cashmere sweaters?
Where do you get the best deals? Nowhere. I stay home and eat pie, put up Christmas lights and maybe go to a Christmas parade.
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? I think it's stupid and ridiculous for people to walk away from a day to be gracious and thankful for the sake of greed. I also don't equate it to community helpers because no one is dying without their discounted tablets.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? I may take part in that.
If I'm at home for Thanksgiving, I go, if not I usually just sleep in and recover from eating 22 lbs. of food on Thanksgiving.
Where do you get the best deals?
I usually go to the outlets near my house. My fav stores are Michael Kors and the Gap. I can usually get a MK purse for $150- $200.
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving?
I think we put a lot of focus on retail employees having to work holiday when doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers, etc. have been working holidays forever.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday?
YES! I love online shopping! Every year I'm much more excited for Cyber Monday. It's how I ease myself back into the work week after Thanksgiving
I haven't gone in years. Sometimes I want to, if there is something specific I want, but I don't usually make it.
Where do you get the best deals? I got a really great coat at Express about 10 years ago. I love that coat.
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving?
Sacrilege! I have the urge to go stink eye the people that go, but I realize that some of them may only be able to afford new electronics or whatever by going as early as they can to these places.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? I've never really participated in Cyber Monday.
Hell no. I think the whole thing is gross. I am so turned off by the whole shopping craziness I know shop from my couch like a big loser because I can't deal with the crowds. I don't think any retail stores should be open on Thansgiving....honestly, it is a holiday! Let people enjoy it!
I do not. In the past I've never really found a deal so amazing to make it worth the hassle. I admit to getting up at 3am to wait in line to buy a Wii though. But that was more about availability than price and it was my cousin's harebrained idea.
Being open on Thanksgiving is nuts. Someone said stores won't make more money because once the shopping list is checked off they are done, people don't have more money to shop just because stores are open more days.
The best deals are no deal. I still buy holiday gifts, but I think black Friday events result in people buying stuff they wouldn't have otherwise purchased because it's such a "deal". I prefer to minimize my purchases.
I don't like the idea. It's sad that we 'need' to buy non essential things at all hours of the night and on holidays.
Yes! I look forward to it every year! I have already been looking at the ads and planning what I want to get.
Where do you get the best deals?
There are lots of good deals. I love that Wal Mart has the one hour guarantee!
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving?
I don't care either way. I feel bad that employees have to work but I used to do it. I worked at Blockbuster for years throughout college and they were open 365 days a year. As a college kid, I loved the time and a half.
Do you go Black Friday shopping? I have done the early-morning-lined-up-in-front-of-Best-Buy exactly once. I needed a laptop (had been sharing with DH for over a year) and had my eye on a particular one, waiting for it to go on sale. It did for Black Friday so we went to Best Buy at 3:00 AM. We also bought our Sony Blu-Ray player on a whim at that same Black Friday and it has honestly saved us so much money because we do Netflix and Hulu instead of cable, so that was a good impulse buy. Unless I see a ridiculous, limited deal on something we're planning to buy soon, I won't go shopping on Friday this year.
Where do you get the best deals? Our downtown has great deals for Small Business Saturday - they put a circular in the paper yesterday. So I might go to that for some good deals because there are some gifts we'll buy there anyway.
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? I don't care for it. If it was all people who volunteered to work and wanted to earn extra that day, okay. However, I have some students (HS juniors and seniors) who were scheduled to work at their retail jobs on Thanksgiving regardless of their plans. They can't ask for the day off because there is nobody else who will work. A few of them are staying with friends this week while their families travel because they would lose their part-time jobs, which they really need.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? I've never bought anything on Cyber Monday. I can't really shop at work (teacher).
Do you go Black Friday shopping? Nope. My mom went when we were younger and I used to hear her horror stories. We are probably a couple years away from Black November- where stores will just stay open the whole entire month with fantastic deals! Every year they push it up- last year it was Thanksgiving night at 8pm. This year it is all day on actual Thanksgiving.
Where do you get the best deals? Online/coupons
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? There are plenty of others that worked Thanksgiving before retail- cops/doctors/nurses/chefs. Hell, I've worked Thanksgiving day before. DH is working Thanksgiving this year- we aren't even celebrating until 12/4 when he is off.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? I've done a couple purchases. Their deals are good. I don't set my alarm and wake up at 2am to buy things.
Do you go Black Friday shopping? Yes, my Mom and Sister and I go every year. We don't go until Black Friday though and we are not into waiting in line for hours.
Where do you get the best deals? It depends on what you are looking for, and I even use coupons on black Friday. Walmart probably has the best deals if you want bigger ticket items. We are usually shopping for everyone else and just knocking alot of it out in one day. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? I don’t think it is a big deal.I have had to work on Thanksgiving and it was just part of my job.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? Mondays are usually crazy busy for me so I don’t really get to purchase anything good as it is all gone our out of stock by the time I am home and can shop.
Do you go Black Friday shopping? Nope. I got suckered into it once or twice, but I prefer not to!
Where do you get the best deals? Internet
What do you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? I don't go. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, some of those people are loving the time-and-a-half or double-time pay. On the other hand, some people are forced to work that don't want to.
Do you prefer Cyber Monday? I prefer the internet in general. "Cyber Monday" is hit or miss.
We don't do Black Friday. People make me sad- they can act so gross. If I participate in any of that it is Small Business Saturday. I am lucky to live in Detroit where we have tons of amazing small businesses that have great gifts.
I get the best deals on the internet, I suppose.
I don't have issue with stores being open on Thanksgiving, as long as the employees are well compensated and they have a say in whether they are working it or not. Not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving after all and some people appreciate the extra pay. I don't shop on Thanksgiving, other than running to the market because I ran out of something.
Cyber monday is great for deals- but it is too much of a time waster. If I can find something on my list before work, then cool. In the evening I tend to go on and see if I can buy some of the kids' clothes for next year while they are on mega sale.

I do shop online and cyber Monday is ok by me.

I like them both equally.
