I am disappointed to come back to this thread to see that everyone loves me. Maybe the next nursing session someone will explain how much they hate my guts.
And you shut your dirty pirate hooker mouth @T3hKay and go back to your home on whore island! Don't talk about my kick ass LB that way because dem be fightin words!!
I seriously CV-style LOLed.
If it was in true CV fashion it would be "lolz".
CV I adore you. Which is a complete turn around from first tri.

I hate that I can't always tell when people are joking in this thread. I don't remember the disagreements that people have had.
I'm not sure but I'm fairly certain t3hkay does not really think quartermisses is a bitch. And taylormarie and tmccord are cool with each other too. But it looks like sooner is on a lot of post it's. And OP got what she was looking for but I don't think I've seen her since page one.
You don't know my lyfe!
This will forever be how I picture you in my head.

I just love that we finally got a snarky 9 page thread again.
Agreed. I also love that it's a snarky 9 page thread that involves all regs and no newbs/lurkers because they're too afraid to be called out by the regs.

@brandontricia has been on my list since her intro.... I can hold a grudge....I can't think of the sn..but I think its the stripper who looks like flo from the progressive commercials...
and me of course who doesn't hate me ha ha
Misslaurapants!
hmm I'm not a stripper and never been compared to flo but thanks I guess....
@amjoy25 i only AW'd twice about leaving. But i just couldn't stay away. Agree, a douche canoe move. Please cut me some slack, my uterus is falling out. I needed some internet love
It is also her annual salary. Nannies are people who deserved to have living wages too...
It seems this thread has moved on, but I won't leave you hanging on this one. I didn't think it needed saying however apparently it does. I would not be able to pay a nanny 100% of my take home pay. Therefore what you pay your nanny is atrocious in my eyes. Good for you that you are in a class that allows you to pay a full time annual wage without putting a dent in your wallet, but to us lowly workers this seems ridiculous.
Oh and @quartermisses is right, you originally said $600 a week.

I immediately remembered $600 a week, too. She mentioned in a later comment that this amount was split between her and another couple when people were questioning it.
I went to sleep for an hour and this happened. 77 more comments. GREAT for my first nightly feeding. Who needs a MOTN checkin when this fabulosity is happening?? Not me.

Butting in...
Does it really matter what anyone does with their own money? Good for her nanny for being able to have a decent salary and for sooner for providing that! Even if she was paying all of her earnings to a nanny, who cares? Not everyone here has the same finances so why get all up in arms that she can afford to pay a nanny well?
To be fair I didn't "get all up in arms" initially. I stated the fact that she pays her nanny my annual salary. <--- fact.

But you think your job skills deserve 28,000 per year, right? And what makes you think that a nanny deserves less for working a full-time, 45+ hour per week job? I just don't understand your logic that because you earn 28k per year, it is "atrocious" that a nanny should earn that much? Our nanny is college educated with a specialization in early childhood education. She pays taxes on her salary. Why is it horrifying to you that she makes a salary similar to you for working similar hours?
And where have I ever said that paying for childcare doesn't put a dent in our wallets?? That is crazy. When I go back to work, we will have to pay almost twice as much for childcare in a year as we pay for the mortgage on our house. But we think it is important, so we make it a priority in our household budget. My husband and I have jobs with very little flexibility and it is very hard for us to handle unexpected schedule disruptions like sick days. Also, we try to keep our kids in relatively low-risk environments for the first few months, when getting even what seems like a "normal virus" can be more stressful on an infant's immune system. Finally, we appreciate the flexibility that comes with having a nanny come to our house in the mornings--the faster i can get to work and get my hours in, the faster i can get back home to my kids at the end of the day. For those reasons, having a nanny is the childcare option that makes the most sense for us--even if it comes at a somewhat steep financial cost.
And no, my original post said that our previous nanny made 600/week, but we shared her services with another couple, so we each paid her 300/week to watch our kids.
I always wonder if I post enough for people to remember me. Then I think, oh man, am I really seeking that as validation in my day to day life? Yes...yes I am.
Anamouse--I know this is the thread for Bumpies we don't like. But I have to say that I will always like you, first and foremost because you have a sylvanian animal as your avatar, and I always get ridiculously nostalgic everytime I see that little guy!

What a kiss ass. smooooooch! Edited: damn iPad and faulty user. I need sleeeeep.
I found this scary and entertaining! I will say, I have no one I hate, many I side eye, and lots I'm cautious around. With that said, I really enjoy reading most of the posts/posters.
I always tended to have more guy friends because women fight dirtier and I am not great at verbal or written battles. A place like this where so much can get read wrong, leads me to be more cautious.
Not all of us have money pouring out of our SO's asses to have round the clock child care...
Wow...talk about a total f-ing out-of-left-field post? That is just bizarre.
Truth is that I earn more than half of our family's household income....I don't even know where to start with your wild assumptions.
I'm not digging through posts, but you did talk about paying an obscene amount for child care....
Really?! I posted about how our nanny quit the day I was due (a week before we ended up having our son, which meant that I had to scramble for child care for a week at a really freaking miserable time in my life so that I could continue to go to the office...)
We paid $300/week for a shared nanny to watch our daughter from 8 to 5:30 Monday-Friday. When I go back to work, we will be paying a nanny $550 to watch both our kids for the same hours. In what world is this an insane amount of money to pay the person that you trust with the most important people in your entire world? It comes out to roughly $28,000/year for a full-time job. That doesn't seem too obscene in my book.
Hahah good for her for quitting. Probably quit because you kept bitching when she was sick. Good for her. Hope shr works for someone less crazy now.

The level of hate on this board is pretty extreme...
I vented once about her coming to work when she knew she was sick--and passing her virus to both my toddler and (ultimately) pregnant me. I mentioned on that post that she knew she didn't need to come to work sick, since we give her two weeks of sick leave a year to use in exactly those circumstances. Yes, I am so crazy and extreme to not want my nanny to knowingly play with my toddler all day when she has a fever.
She quit to work a job in her major where she could earn double what we could pay her--we were happy for her, even though the timing sucked.

No. You were initially complaining about her inconveniencing you because sbe took a day off and was taking more time off. That was your main issue.
I don't like @Fluffyhead because I don't like people associating me with lame-o trolls. You should out yourself (or, rather, "your wife") so we can hate you for you.
Everybody else is cool. B-)

@sooner I never once hated on you this entire thread, just so we are clear. However if you really want to know, most of your posts make me say:
To answer your question, no I do not think that my wage represents the level and quality of work that I do. We live in a broken system of greedy corporate assholes, clearly evidenced by the amount of bumpies on this board jokingly jumping forward to be your nanny.
Oh and baby101010 has been around for a long time.

Quite possibly ... although CV giving no fucks could still be funny.
