No weight loss nursing

Ok ladies, I need some hope! Nursing my twin 10 month old boys and the last ten pounds just will not go away. No matter what I eat/don't eat, no matter how many miles I run, it will not budge. Anyone lose the last 10-15 lbs after they weaned? How long did it take? I feel so bloated and uncomfortable

I have a coworker who didn't lose any of the pregnancy weight until after she weaned her son. For some people nursing takes it all off and for some it doesn't.

This. I have heard stories from both camps: "breastfeeding melted the pounds" and "I could not lose the weight until I stopped breastfeeding"

I think its an individual thing. Scientifically, I do know that your body stores fat to ensure that it has reserves for things like third trimester and breastfeeding. So, its possible that your body is storing fat because it "knows" it has increased nutritional needs from breastfeeding and once you stop breastfeeding, you will no longer need those fat stores. Especially with twins -- you probably have even more increased nutritional needs.

I lost nothing - NOTHING - while bfing. Not one darned ounce. Granted I had production issues and had to eat like crazy to get any milk at all. We didn't bf for very long, but I only lost weight after I stopped. Some women are just built that way.

I lost my last 7 lbs plus an additional 10 after DS weaned. I still attribute it to BF'ing even when I lost them after we were done.

I've been bf for 4 months and have been hanging on to some weight too. I'm not one of the lucky ones that had the weight melt off. I'm frustrated with my body but my dh keeps reminding me of how great the is for ds and I have lots of time to lose weight. At least it's winter and I don't have to wear a bathing suit.

I didn't lose the last 10 lbs until I weaned, with both my boys. It was frustrating, esp. since I nursed both for a year each, but oh well. I came to accept that my body just held onto it. I lost those 10 lbs in a week after weaning. So weird!

This makes me want to wean! Ugh... I feel like I have been trying everything to lose those last 10-15lbs, and nothing is working. It's about time for weaning anyways... Although, I am guessing DD doesn't feel the same way.

So glad I am not alone. Sadly I have 45lbs not 10 to lose

I have been so tempted to wean but then am reminded of all the wonderful benefits DD and I are getting!

I lost 112 on Weight Watchers before getting pregnant so this SUCKS!!!!
