  • I did a shoddy job loading the dishwasher last night & turned it on heavy duty so the clunky noises would drown out the sound of DH snoring on the couch.

  • Husband and I are currently house hunting. I went out yesterday for a few viewings. On the way to the last one I got this overwhelming urge to throw up(I think too much coffee not enough breakfast). As we pulled into the neighborhood I knew I was in trouble. So I may have stopped following the realtor, pulled over, and thrown up in someone's bushes. Then wiped away my tears and continued on with our last viewing like nothing happened. I prayed it would rain more so the poor people who's side yard I tainted don't have to see that! Whoops!

I have very curly, dry hair and if it's washed every day, it becomes like straw.  My hair is at it's best after 2-3 days of not washing.

My confession - I've been making lactation cookies like a crazy person, because DH doesn't like them and I don't want to share my cookies.

I made lactation cookies for a friend last year. She shared it with her BIL and he said it was good. After he ate it, she told him it was lactation cookies. He looked like he was going to throw up, but it's just an oatmeal cookie!

DH, and my dad, are convinced that I make them with breastmilk.  I told them that there is no way I'd waste my milk on making cookies with them!  But they don't believe me. :)

On that note. We had our septic pumped last month. I offered the guy coffee and cookies before realizing the only cookies I had we're lactation cookies.
He ate them and said the were the Best oatmeal cookies he had.
I told dh later and he had a look of pure horror. He assumed that I gave this guy cookies I had made out of my breast milk. Yeah cause that would happen

With holiday yumminess upon us, I'm getting a leeeettle bitter about my diet restrictions for breastfeeding. Makes me want to test and see if lo's tolerance of dairy and soy has improved.

    But, I shan't, I shan't.

I am so right there with you! All I can think about is the wonderful Christmas baking that I cannot participate in :( andplusalso there were nanaimo (sp?) bars on sale at the grocery store and I wanted to cry.
Just thought I would float this out there...

DH is moderately lactose intolerant and we use Lactaid milk and non dairy butter substitutes for our cooking. It's actually still pretty good. :) Just a thought. Dairy sensitivities in baby are a problem with the lactose - the milk sugars, if those are not present, you're pretty much good to go. :)

Yay for curly girls! My hair is the most annoying curly hair. I have big fat curls and ringlets but my hair is very thick and heavy so when it is long the heavy tips pull down the top so the top 3rd is flat and the bottom 2/3rds fluff out and curl, and of I dont pull it back wet I will have a head full of frizz. I really like having it short so I have a head full of nice curls but I promised my partner I would grow it out.

So I guess my confession is I have a head full of nasty right now. I like to use natural oils to condition it but with LO I just can't keep up the regime like I should. Resultantly my hair is nasty and dry and its making me want to take a lawnmower to it.

I wear hosiery. Yes, even nude hose. Outdated? Old fashioned? For the elderly? Downright patriarchal?

Yes, but my legs are so white, veiny and randomly bruised it's a necessity. It's me and the conservative set of baby boomers keeping the hosiery industry alive!

I can't help but picture you as an old lady sometimes because in addition to the hosiery, I remember you mentioning you love skirt suits. So even though I know you're this pretty young thing, I sometimes picture you kind of "Golden Girl-esque" ... I suppose that could be my confession...

I'm an 80 year old trapped in a 26 yo body!

I am totally wearing a skirt suit and black hose today--they're Spanx though--so that makes it sort of youthful right? right? To top it off, I am wearing black heels that are only like 2" high because I'm sick of shoes that look like they're for hookers. GET OFF MY LAWN!!

  • I showered today while LO was napping and though I would've had time to shave my legs I was too lazy and just shaved my knees and put on knee high socks when I got dressed...no one has to know!

  • for some reason I can't copy and paste right now! So I can't put the link directly to the product. But the product is called KMS California Hair Play Make Over Spray. It's sold at Ulta, a bunch of salons (search on the website) and you can find it on amazon.

I love that you are plugging my company right now! :) makeover spray is my must have from our whole line...it was great pre LO but is seriously a life saver now.

So I put the dog in the fridge ( not easy with a Dane) because he was interrupting my time with my bong. Flame away!!

I usually just let my dog babysit while I get high in the fridge.
You guys are doing it wrong. Baby goes in the fridge. Or is it the wing of the airplane? Whichever.
I am going to wake up LO (she's sleeping on me) from laughing so damn hard. Damn it!

@bl190004 I was tempted to flag this post but then I remembered that it is not a dislike button ;) Manwich is disgusting, I think them and pedigree are working off the same assembly line.

Manwich is the most delicious food $1 can buy. ;)

I wear nude hose to work in the fall and winter. I feel like it's too cold for bare legs but get so sick of always wearing black tights....and sometimes you just need a nude leg!
Haven't you heard? Kate Middleton "brought pantyhose back." So all of us who never stopped wearing them were actually just into them before they were cool.

I gave notice at my job this week. I'm leaving the world's most poorly run ad agency and going back into journalism. And I'm torn between thinking "Damn! I am going to be the best-dressed person in my new office" and "Damn! Now that I'm going back to a newsroom, I can stop showering and start wearing dirty jeans and Uggs to work again."

I'm with you on this ladies. There's just no decent excuse for not cleaning yourself properly once a day. Even with my LOs pretty non existent nap schedule I can find 5 minutes to shower. I'd just feel repulsive if I didn't.

  • All of you getting high while you're baby is in the fridge or with the dog or on the wing of a plane... NO. How can you not share the goodies with your kid? Bad, bad moms. I wish I could gif from my phone.

  • I've been pissed at DH all day for coming home 2 hours late last night and missing bed time with LO. I spent most of the day devising this plan that I was going to go out and leave him alone all night to "teach him a lesson" But man, I'm too GD tired. I hate being a lazy resentful bitch. It's not effective.
  • It's 5 pm and I just realized that LO has been in his same diaper all day! I had a new hire orientation so dropped him off with my MiL, picked him up, fed him, got back in the car to run errands and he fell asleep- came home, fed him and let him play while I ran around cleaning before FiL arrived, then he fell asleep in his swing and just woke up to feed again and I just about cried when I realized his diaper was a full mess! I feel awful but LO seems ok, especially after finally getting a new one!

  • I haven't been for my 6 week GD check.

When the appointment day came around LO was in a mega growth spurt and not eating for 12 hours would have been torture while she was feeding so much. Plus entertaining said growth spurty newborn for 2 hours while I waited and gave blood was too much to even think about doing at the time.

And now it feels like it's all gone too long. I know they'll scowl at me if I went now so I just haven't.

I have home tested though and my levels are well below the margins so I'm self diagnosing as resolved.

  • I guess I'm also in the daily shower camp. I like to wear my super haaaawt shower cap every other day because I love how my hair looks the 2nd day. I just can't get motivated to do anything without a quick shower to start my day.

Sometimes I will skip a shower on Sundays and stay in my PJs. That happened more pre kids when I stayed out late Saturday and sat around snacking and watching sweet home Alabama and other chick movies all Sunday.

But yeah that never happens anymore. DS1 prefers dinosaur train and kipper...which suck.

Your MIL had him all day and didn't change him either?
  • No I should clarify more- I made it sound worse than it really was (although it was still bad!) - he was in the same dirty diaper for about 4/5 hours because I changed him right before MiL took him around 10 and she checked and he was dry before we left around noon and he got a fresh one when hubs came home before I wrote my post at 5, so no not literally ALL day but too long for it not to be flame worthy - lesson learned! Luckily no diaper rash has been seen yet :-S
