I just had my parent-teacher conference at daycare for my 4 month old and the teacher shared with me some surprising news. She said that my DS is getting increasingly worse about taking bottles, especially on Mondays. I EBF him on the weekends and at night and then at daycare he gets pumped bottles. My DH has no problems getting him to take a bottle and sometimes with me if I give him a bottle he kind of plays around with it, but eventually takes it. He has experience with bottles since birth, so this is nothing new, but his teachers say he leaves milk in the bottle and doesn't finish it and takes a really long time to eat it. I hate to think he's going hungry because he's being stubborn. I haven't researched into this but the teachers say this is common in breastfed babies, to have a tendency to reject a bottle from someone other than mom. Sometimes they have to turn them so they are facing outward and not looking at the person feeding them. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions? He isn't old enough to hold his own bottle, but I'm hoping that will come soon, right?
