Ladies, with the holidays coming up, we are going to be eating dinner at a lot of different houses. How do you feed your highchair needing child at highchair-less houses?
Depends on whose house it is. My parents and friends with toddlers are cool with DD standing in a chair. The in-laws would freak out so I bring a space saver high chair. You can get a cheap one for $15-20.

We have a travel chair that we got at Target for $50. You can either attach it right to the table or strap it to a regular chair. That thing was easily the best money I spent on a baby item.
Edit to add: it folds down to about one foot square and three or four inches high, so it's super easy to just fling in the car. We just leave ours in the trunk.
We have 2 travel high chairs - the Inglesina fast table chair (folds down flat, attaches to the table), and the FP healthy care booster seat (straps to a regular dining chair). We bring either one with us depending on where we are going.

At my parents house he has his own booster that stays there, so we don't need to bring one there. Other houses we have been to have had a small kid sized table that he & other little ones can sit at. I usually will ask ahead and bring our booster from home if we need to.
I have a Fisher Price Deluxe Booster Seat that straps right onto a chair. I always keep it in my trunk and we use it everywhere when we are out. It has a tray so you can use it like a high chair. And as they get older, you can just use it as a booster seat. It only cost me about $30.
