GTKY: Ask a bumpie

Before I get to the gtky I need to confess.... I have been juggling boards... I have been active on the TTCAL board.

So on that note I stole this from them. Basically, you pick a bumpie you'd like to ask a question by tagging them and they respond to it or choose to pass If you get tagged, you first answer your question and then go on to pose one to someone yourself!

@amcastord how long ago was your avatar pic taken? I know you have shared some details about the experience, but I would love to hear the whole story.

@ashris13 - there isn't any significance to my screen name at all! I first came over here with the SN that I used on The Knot (I was pretty active) and decided that family members could potentially recognize that name if they searched it. My first post on the board after changing my SN was complaining about my H. I needed the anonymity. It's really just "Sunny" for cheery or being in Arizona, and "B" for the first initial of my maiden name. It just sounded good, like Sunny D! That was a long story for a simple question haha- sorry!

@ashris13- What's your favorite food?

@Thosethreewords- You always give such great advice, and I think of you having a career in counseling! What do you do for a living?

@IFinTN It's a Scooby-Doo hat. No real story- I wanted it for my birthday a few years ago and it was one of those had to have items. (I think Scooby looks more like a boxer than a great dane- and i love boxers)

Although I had seen him around a lot, and we have friends in common we just never met until he apparently was doing his business on the toilet and scanning through match, came across my very blunt I'm not interested in getting laid profile and the rest was quickly history.

@poohniki - We went on a Southern Caribbean cruise! It was amazing- We visited 7 different locations and went snorkeling, on a catamaran, on a powerboat ride around Antigua, hiking waterfalls, and of course drank lots of cocktails and smooched on the beach!

@rebmos Your siggy pic is gorgeous! Is your DH a military man, and if so, have you gone to any of the military formals?

@marshaleigh How long do you and your husband usually stay in one location teaching before moving to the next place? I think that is really amazing that you can travel so much, and to places people don't usually visit on a 'vacation.'

@ThoseThreeWords - we've had Louie (purebred Viszla) for about 2 1/2 years. He's almost 3 years old. He is super cuddly and follows me aroudn the house (momma's boy). He's a favorite at doggy daycare as he shows them all love too. Also, he is afraid of certain "yappy" dogs. He throws a fit (sits and puts his paw over his leash) and refuses to walk by their yards. He is spoiled and always gets his way!

@praying4miracle17 - We have a vizsla too! She is a little over 1.5 years old and sounds very much like Louie! She is superspoiled, doesn't like yappy dogs, and is quite the snuggle bug both at home and at doggie daycare!

@praying4miracle17, we have 2 Italian greyhounds. Hopefully they both show up in my siggy. The tan one is Layla and the blue one is Ivey. They're great cuddlers and wonderful pups! They're little but total climbers...I found Layla on the kitchen counter once and still have no idea how she got there.

@o2girl, I'm actually a registered cardiovascular invasive specialist so I work in the cardiac cath lab..it's similar to nursing just specialized to work in cardiac. It's all diagnostic and fixing of the heart, lungs, veins and arteries. We get called in a lot for heart attacks. If I was to have any job I would work with horses. I rode and competed all my life and through college but have sold our horses and havent ridden in several years. That or I would love to work for a nonprofit of some sort.

Up until April of this year I worked as a respiratory therapist specializing specifically in critical and emergency care .... then I took on a position at a new hospital where I work mostly in management, this took me out of the patient care area that I love so much... although I do get to interface with patients from time to time but mostly it is just a lot of close work with the doctors particularly pulmonologists and anesthesiologists. It is interesting work, a little less challenging physically and mentally, but interesting.

@kz's_girlygirl I lived in Japan for 2 years, S. Korea for 2, Thailand for 3 and now we are hoping to spend 3 to 5 years in bulgaria before moving to England. When I moved overseas, it was only supposed to be for 1 year. I can't imagine another life now! @geordi314 Are you a Newcastle United fan? My husband is a Geordie, so I spend loads of time watching games!

Omg...I can't keep up!

@Ashris13...my pic was taken this summer, July. I was blessed to accompany my nephew on how Make -a-Wish trip. He has leukemia. He was given 2 days to do a dolphin interaction so my sister went with him the first day and he asked me to do it with him the second day. This dolphin is Merina, today it's her birthday actually, and she was pregnant at that time we swam with her. It was by far, the most amazing thing I've ever had the chance to do. The most amazing. I cried the entire time! I was hoping her pregnant self would send me some baby mojo but it didn't. She gave birth last week! I stay very connects to the DRC on Facebook! I love them.

@ashris13 yes my avator pic is of our wedding day 2 years ago in January. I have 2 really rememberable moments one walking down the isle to my husband’s reaction. I was told before my wedding, all eyes are on you so put all your eyes on him.. Also, our first dance being wrapped up in the moment together everyone it felt as if everyone in the room was gone and it was just us. Thank you for bringing this up I have been having a really really down day and this made me smile.

@kjf114 Thank you so much for saying that! To be honest, I don't have an answer. I keep going because there is no alternative. My goal is to have a family and I'm not ready to give up yet. My son will always be my first child, and if we are lucky enough to get pregnant again and carry a healthy baby to term, that baby will be my second child. But- the goal is to be a parent, not only a mother. Every day is painful, but it's a pain that comes from a place of love and longing (and self pity sometimes!). I guess it's like any other wound- it heals over when you aren't looking but you'll always know it's there bc of the scar. I hope you have had some comfort after your losses, and know that you are in my thoughts

I love to cook! It's one of my favorite things to do in the world. At some point in my life I want to open a bakery/cafe. I feel like I will love going to work so much more when it involves cheesecake!

@taylorH84 I'm so glad someone asked about your dogs! I've been trying to figure it out but we only have mutts so I'm not that great at breeds! Question: Before the evil IF how many children were you planning on? Is the number still the same?

Hey! Glad to be included. Nope, I took this picture in Puerto Rico in summer 2012. It was on the island of Culebra. Absolutely beautiful there.

I am so glad that this helped you. I had a moment where I felt everyone disappeared, right after the kiss - we hugged and everyone but us disappeared in the world. I thought it would spark a whole different part of the board! I love all these ladies soo much that I wanted to know more and this is the perfect way to do it!

I love in Arlington TX, right downtown he street from cowboys stadium. We were married on August 9, 2009. I am one lucky girl!

OMG, this thread is so much fun, but I have to admit that I am a little overwhelmed by all this information

@Praying4Miracle17, it's hard to pick just one favorite race, but I'm going to go with the Goofy Challenge. The event is at Disney World in Orlando, and the challenge is to run a half marathon (13.1 miles) on Saturday and a full marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday. That's 39.3 miles in under 30 hours

You get to run through all four parks.... it's so much fun!!

@Praying4Miracle17 (again), we were looking for a Viszla over the summer, but couldn't find a litter that was ready to go. Instead, we adopted a lab mix. Viszlas are such cool dogs! What made you pick that breed?

@ThoseThreeWords, what's the significance of the shoes in your avatar? They are a cute pair of shoes, btw!

@O2girl, how did you get your dogs to sit still for the pic in your siggy? My dogs would have pulled the tree down, lol!!

I have to admit I'm a really good dog trainer. If everything else in my life fails I guess I could do that for a living. I can take nearly any dog and teach them a trick or two in mins.. But it takes usually about a week for them to commit it to memory. My boys know they have to "wait" for treats or for any other command once in the sit position so they just waited and waited and waited... For about 5 mins.... Then they got some meat. If you take one of your dogs set your camera on a tripod and its best to have a remote control so you can focus on getting them to sit and wait for their treat... Then when the do what you want snap the pic and give them the treat.... It will take a few times.

I'm doing the same thing... Not only do I want another dog but two goats and a horse.... Now I don't have room for my horse but I might let it sleep in the house.... And I want a squirrel monkey or a marmoset...heck I'd smuggle in a lemur too... Of course the last three aren't legal in California.... Which is good cause to move if you ask me

@LSN8303 Isadora is not my real name. Princess Isadora is the nickname one of my best friends made up for me bc I always had my hair and make up done even when we were going to the chicken farm during our veterinary training. I love the name Isadora but DH has vetoed it.

@babydreams13 how long did you stay in Culebra? Where else in PR did you visit? I am originally from PR, in my late teens and early twenties my friends and I spent our weekends camping in Flamenco beach. I have taken DH a few times ( he is Irish) and he loves Culebra.

Ashris13 I love all kinds of games! Board games like Battle Star, Seven Wonders, Card games like Dominion, Cards against Humanity, Dice games like Quarriers, Zombie Dice all sorts of games.
I also love video games mostly RPG I loved Dragon Age Origins and the Mass Effect series and all the old Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy. I find that playing games is a great way to spend time with friends and family and decompress after a long day. I love that your wedding cake had Mario it's adorable! I have friends that did that only with a final fantasy 4 theme

Omg I had some catching up to do!!

@kcm187- we always thought we would like 2-3 and still feel that way. It's hard to even think that far ahead when we are just trying for 1 right now. I try to tell myself just 1 at a time. It's hard sometimes when I see friends on their third! If we ended up with twins I'd try for a third...if we had one I'd def try for a second MAYBE a third. I would like to have an age difference. Like what I want means anything haha. I'm like some of these ladies...I may just end up with a farm lol. How about you??

@poohniki- I loooove to cook! It's actually something DH and I do together a lot. I find it really relaxing. We like to turn on music and have a drink (I'm not right now though, boo!) and cook together. I was actually somewhat intimated by cooking when I first met him especially bc he was/is really good at. I'm not sure what my favorite thing to make is...I love Mexican and spicy food. We love making homemade pizza and even have a recipe that's low carbs by making the crust out of cauliflower and it's really good!! It's been a little trickier lately since I've been really trying to do low carb for IVF. Do you cook? Any good recipes??

@taylorh84 I met my dh when I was 16 at his house actually. My friend knew of one of his friends and wanted to meet up with them to go to a college party. Needless to say this wasn't the beginning of our relationship. We started dating about 3 years later. How did you meet your dh (sorry if it is in a diff thread)?

@thosethreewords...I totally know what you mean about filling that void...I have 4 dogs and 2 cats and even though it's insane I wouldn't trade them in. Do you think your dh will be getting you another puppy?
