Has anyone introduced one yet? If you are going to, when/how are you planning to do so? For btdt moms, did you actually introduce it or did your LOs start it on their own?
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
Piper has one, sort of - but as she's still swaddled, she hasn't developed a strong attachment to it yet. Once we wean off the swaddle I'm hoping she takes to it
N plays with his lovie alot (well, sucks on it a lot)... He does LOVE to fall asleep holding a blanket next to his face. This is obviously trouble but since I still let him fall asleep in my arms, I don't mind
They both love A+A blankets and use those a lot. My big one never developed an attachment to anything until much, much later. Like maybe after 2yo when he has stuff in his crib, he started sleeping w a specific stuffed animal. He sleeps w big Clifford dog these days.
E mostly just likes to gnaw on Steve's ears. And yes, I named his lovey Steve :P
Hah! Joel has a white bear I named "Beary White". I found our later it was a monkey. Oops.

Yes, last weekend. She love love loves it. It's a bunny lovie with a rattle in the bunny's head. I haven't let her sleep with it at night yet but will during naps.

Layla loves the thin linen blankets like A&A. I give it to her during diaper changes and she never cries as long as she has a blanket to tub her little fingers on.
We have one for her, but she doesn't really seem to care yet. The thing she seems to have an attachment to are her toy keys. Just 4 plastic keys on a ring. Probably cost $1. Out of all the toys we have for her, those are her favorite.
LO has a few blankets she uses and doesn't have any attachment to any of them. I don't think I'll introduce a lovey to her but I won't discourage her from having one if she wants to.
Alex has a blue blanket that he sleeps with at night, and I'm hoping that ends up being his Linus blanket.
I also plan on following my sister's good advice -- buying a second of whatever blanket he ends up liking. It's great to have a backup when Blankie #1 is in the washing machine, forgotten at Grandma's, etc.
Yes. Just last week I have it to him and he hugs it and chews on its face. Now I'm trying to buy a second one in case something happens to it. All our other ones have silk lining and he doesn't like it. So I need another one that is all fabric no silk.
Been looking at getting one. @Natalie2167 maybe I'll buy two at the same time after reading your post. That way I'll know I can get the same type as a back up.
This is a little bunny BFF sent for Z. She's taken it to it quite well. DF tucked in her last night and she was still hugging it when I went to check on her.
She's also taken to this teething monkey with that crinkling sound...

Yes! We didn't mean for it to happen. LO just really likes this one. He literally throws his other animals and blankets. Now I'm stuck online searching for another one. And I can't remember who bought it for him.
I spent a ridiculous amount of time getting DD1 attached to SOMETHING. One of the many sleep books I read recommended it; that it'd help with sleeping independently.
As soon as she'd appear attached to something I'd buy a back up... and then she'd be over it.
Sometime in the past year she decided one of my old nursing tanks was going to be her security item. And she picked the white one. It's so unbelievably grody.
DD2 doesn't seem to care about any particular item yet... other than being at the boob.
My nephew has a blanket my mom made him and he calles it, "budda". He's SO attached to it. I really want my LO to have a blanket or stuffed animal he loves. So hopefully he takes to something soon. I still have my baby blanket..
We had a moment of panic tonight as my son has "dark blue" and "light blue" blankie. These are the full size Carter's type blankets too, not lovie size and we have to have BOTH...anyways we are getting out of the car after errands and he only has one! I say where is it and he says I don't know and we both look at each other with panic and he goes running into the house to tell daddy and my husband says "it is right there on the couch" turns out he handed it to my husband before I walked around to get him out. Damn kid has a short memory!
So yeah, as soon as they show an attachment buy extras! More than just 1 even. He of course used any old blankie up until like 2, and by then light and dark blue were long out of stores and can't find replacements.
I have a couple of small lovies I will try for DD, really want to kick this full size blanket thing!

C has one she likes.
We have one that I use primarily. LO loves to rub it in his face, gnaw on its ears but isn't "attached" to it yet.
