I don't really understand why people get upset when someone else calls your baby their baby. Like MIL saying, "how's my baby?". I don't think there is any debate whose baby he/she is. I say be grateful others love your kids so much!
We have some on everyone of our vehicles. Fftc....
OK, now you need to tell me what they say: political leanings? An affinity for a particular animal? A proclamation of intelligence or favorite hobbies?
I always really hated those "My kid's an honor student at ____ school" ones. I was an honor student. So was my brother. Our parents didn't have bumper stickers about it. I far prefer "My kid beat up your honor student" or better yet, "My kid got your honor student pregnant."

Ooh, this is me. MIL constantly asks how her baby is, to which I look at H and say, well your mom asked you a question. She also asks DS 'who's boy are you?!' and I can't help but sense a tone and a look toward me when she says it. H thinks I'm nuts, but it drives me BSC. Always has, can't help it.
ETA: This would drive me just as crazy if my mom did this, so I don't think it's an IL thing

Everyone has some sort of Iraqi war vet sticker. Pro gun stickers. My truck has a nobama sticker from 08 haha. One has a redneck sticker... Go figure. My jeep is just guns and Iraqi war vet.
I have to stop an get some wine today. DH's grandparents and uncle are coming for dinner tomorrow. His grandparent will drink inexpensive whatever. White or Zinfandel. What should I get? MIL likes barefoot Pinot Grigio. I know nothing I can drink a sweeter wine.

I don't drink white so I am no help. I usually stick to local wine's when I am not looking for something in particular.

I wouldn't personally have one on my car, but I do enjoy laughing at others.
My personal favorite right now is a play one of those circle ones that people put on their cars after running a race (13.1, 26.2, etc). It says 0.0. I laugh every time.

If you need a sweet white get a late harvest Reisling. Just don't get a dry Reisling.
As long as it's not out of a box. I'm amazed at the number of adults who think boxed wine is acceptable. Why not just drink Mad Dog?
***
There is decent boxed wine. Not FranziaShit. It's pricier, but still cheaper than equivalent decent wine in a bottle because, well, you're not paying for the bottle.
Plus it doesn't turn to vinegar when I don't finish it quickly.

This stuff is delicious.
A lot of companies are putting wine in boxes now because it's 4 bottles in 1 box and it's "eco friendly" or something like that. I took this camping this year...It was around $40 or so, but it's really good wine. Added bonus, if it's not in glass bottles, you can take it on the river when you go tubing.
FFTC: We also bring a case of Boone's Farm to pass with friends we make at other camp sites, so our klassiness does show from time to time. ;-)
*edit: apparently the picture won't show up. It's From The Tank Vin Rouge: Côtes du Rhône (France, $40 for three liters) And no, I did not hear about it from Oprah. It's just the first thing that came up when I googled it. :-)

I'm one of these people...but that's because sometimes my MIL needs to be reminded he actually ISN'T her baby. The last time we sat down to eat together I had prepared his food and she smacked my hand away when I tried to feed him because she was already feeding him from her plate. So yeah-- I get a little shitty when she says he is her baby.

Yeah, we have Navy stickers on our cars. I wouldn't put anything on if it were just me, but it's important to DH, so we do.
A couple years ago I saw a Clinton campaign sticker. Not Hilary. Bill. From 1992. I was duly impressed that someone kept it on their car for a decade.
One of my friends has a bunch of pro-military stickers on his car in a very, very liberal town and it's been vandalized a couple times. I'd always wondered if having political stickers on your car could set you up for that.

I'd rather be hungry than eat 90% of vegetables (any lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, etc). If it weren't for smoothies, I'd pretty much never eat veggies.

Ok, but she still knows she didn't birth him.
Correct. I don't interpret literally. It's more of a "he's my baby and I know what is best for him" attitude. I don't appreciate it. I love that she loves him so much, but the fact that she calls him "hers" and constantly tells us how to parent him gets old. He is my child to parent-- not hers. Is that a better way to describe it?
Another UO: I tried to extend my birthday even longer to this weekend by trying to convince DH that we should go and see The Hunger Games and he thinks it's lame. Even though we have a $50 gift card so it won't cost us anything, he doesn't want to "waste" a night out seeing a movie he's not interested in. I really, really, really want to go and see it.
Wait! I need clarification on the issue with grandmas calling grandchild their "baby". Is it bothering people because its said to get under your skin and irritate you, or are you afraid MIL actually thinks that the grandchild is her baby?
Sweet wines, fruity mixed drinks, any mixed drink with chocolate in it and light beer are the worst.
Dry red wine, IPA or stouts and gin and tonics for me please!

Does this count? I don't know wine but yum, it's my favorite.
Boxed wine is becoming more en voice with smaller vineyards, just like microbrews are going back to cans instead of bottles. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but some of those Target boxed wines aren't have bad!

Do you have any girlfriends you can go with? These are the types of movies that are better seen with girlfriends anyway

I guess this might be a FFFC but Target has a really good boxed Chardonnay. And I'm in the "life's too short to drink crappy booze" camp.
