whoo veggies!

@Illumine Thanks for the tip about roasted veggies. I served oven roasted carrots and green bell peppers (the peppers for me) with a bit of rosemary and drizzled with a maple syrup/worsteschire(sp?) sauce alongside chicken and mac-n-cheese. It was a win! I served smaller portions and let them both help prepare.

They both tried the veggies. SD said they were tolerable and ate all of her carrots. DS protested at first about trying them, but once he did, he cleaned his plate completely of everything! He says now he is a green power ranger because he ate "that green stuff," and he also says "Now I like yucky stuff." Lol

Ok, so it wasn't a super hit with either if them, but the point is that they tried it. Yay!

  • YAY! I'm glad you found something that worked! It took me what felt like forever to get SS to actually "like" veggies. It was an experimental process, I'm glad you had some success today!

    Whoo Hoo

Hey, look up side dishes.  I know that the thought of adding time, money, thought/planning to cooking up an elaborate side dish ON TOP OF the main course is daunting.  But if you find a 5-10 easy, but yummy standbys you are golden.

  • My H Is the same way! Corn and potatoes only. Tomatoes if they're cooked in and not choppy. I've asked him to come up with some different vegetables and ways he'd like me to prepare them though, and he said he'll look through pinterest and think about things his granny used to cook.
