My husband is headed out of town for 3 weeks for business and we figured it would be nice to have a little family vacation on one of the weekend. I will be 27 weeks pregnant and my 2 year olds first plane ride.
IpAd!!! That with a few small toys and coloring books that LO hasn't seen before. Snacks and sippy cup
yup this, and dont under any circumstances forget a sippy (made that mistake once eesh it was bad). We had a tablet and a drawing app kept him busy for hours.

Just did the very same thing in May. I downloaded brand new apps so that they were a surprise to him. On the way home he slept the whole time. It went better than I thought considering I had morning sickness the whole trip. good luck!
Thanks everyone...I love the idea of surprising him with new apps. Flight is at bedtime so hoping he will get tired and sleep. But being a new experience he might be over excited.
Any suggestions on moving through the airport? I will have my suitcase and saw the straps that I could attach the Britax car seat to a roller suitcase. Anyone had experience with this type of thing or a better suggestion? I also have a diaper bag that has a built in carrier so if he wants to be carried I would have my hands free.
I just checked an umbrella stroller and that worked great. I didn't bother with a car seat for the plane. I don't think anyone else on board did either with little kids.
I just did night time travel and daytime with DD. I surprised her with some craft kits I made and she played with pipe cleaners and play dough over the iPad. Just a suggestion because they are easy to pack. gl.

I brought my stroller to get her through the airport as she didn't want to walk much, but a carrier would work too if you're up for carrying a 2 year old! I had a lot of walking to do, so the stroller worked for me and we just gate checked it.
I did have the carseat, but I couldn't get her to sit in it for the whole time - and it actually got in a way a lot as it took up space on her seat. I think the CARES harness is MUCH better and easier.
I wouldn't do nap or bedtime - my dd was so excited by flying that she did not sleep at her normal times and wouldn't sleep until she was COMPLETELY exhausted - which was many many hours later. Just bring LOTS of new toys/coloring books/stickers/etc for LO to play with & you'll be ok!
(I just did 17 hours of flying with my 2 year old and we did fine!)
