I am so confused. I just got the results back in the 24 hour urine catch they did in the hospital. From what the numbers say and what I looked up about them online, it looks like I'm spilling protein. Apparently anything over 300 is indicative of pre-e, and mine was 313. Google says that this, plus the high BP, headaches, and sudden weight gain = pre-e.
The results came directly from the hospital's electronic chart system. I haven't heard anything from my OB. I called and left a message explaining that I didn't understand what I was seeing and asking for clarification, but haven't heard back.
Anyone have any clue if there's something I can be doing to start feeling better? I know the only "cure" is delivery, but is there anything I can do in the meantime (diet changes, vitamins, anything)? I almost wish they didn't send out results like that...they should be accompanied by an explanation of what to do!!!! Or at least a note saying "we'll call you soon...don't google!"
Re: Pre-E?
I just heard back from my OB's nurse. They are want me to do a 12 hour catch overnight and then come in at 8 tomorrow morning to see the OB.
TBH, I hate this system. I'm an obsessive googler...if I get info I don't understand, I must search until I figure it out. I've never had the hospital send me results before (I think they just started using the system) but my OB's office has for while. They've always included an email about the results. For instance, they emailed me to take iron when I turned up anemic in the results. They don't call very much, which I prefer, as it's easier to check email than to find time to chat on the phone. I do NOT like that the hospital sent the results to me without any explanation though.
Eaf, sending lots of T&P to you. Try to get some rest tonight and hope they can get you on monitor and answer some questions tomorrow.
