Teachers...it's that dreaded time...

Parent/teacher conferences :P

Anyone else have theirs this week?

The actual conferences I don't mind. Frankly, it's a huge ego stroke because I get a lot of, "Your so and so's favorite teacher and they just love your class". (That's right - I went there and I'm awesome!)

It's the nights that kill me. They start today and the students have a half day. First session is 12-2:30 then back tonight from 6:30-8:30. Thursday is a full day of school and then another night session from 6:30-8:30. It's so exhausting and I'm really bummed I won't be there to do the night-night routine two nights this week. :-(

  • Bummer! I remember working nights and how rotten it was.

  • We are given a whole school day for ours. It was Nov. 8th. I started at 7:40 and went to 4:00. So not too much outside of my regular hours. But it is hard to keep the mega watt smile on all day lol. And it's always the kids whose parents I reaaaally need to talk to that never schedule conferences. C'est la vie!

  • We had ours at the end of October. The kids go to school a full day on Wednesday and we start that night from 4-8. Then on Thursday there is no school and we go from 8am-8pm and yahoo Friday is our comp day!
  • I don't work in a school anymore, but when I did, I hated parent-teacher conferences. As the band/choir teacher, almost no one came and talked to me, so it was a complete waste of time. I was also in a really bad school so almost no parents came period. All in all, a depressing experience. I would seriously watch movies on Netflix on my laptop the whole time.
