I ordered a DivaCup today

I recently heard about menstrual cups and decided that I want to try one! I am scared to death of getting TSS from tampons and refuse to wear big pads. It seems like people who use the DivaCup swear by it and say they wish they would have converted sooner. Any testimonies here?

    I've used one for a few years and it's really convenient! Once you get over the ick factor, it's great. :)

    Sorry ladies, I would review it if I had any desire to try this, but I do not. All the tampon and pad factories in the land would have to simultaneously explode for me to go there. Which is not to say others shouldn't, I just personally can't. It's ok if someone else wants to give a play by play though.

    Meanwhile I am overdue for a WDIBT but can't seem to get excited about tortilla pans or bendy pillows. I'll post one anyway though, even a boring review would be nice in this deserted place!

    My friend swears by it but I just can't. I am not sure why I am so weirded out by it but I just can't get over it. It sounds just too odd.

    I recently bought one, but have been putting off using it due to a mix of nerves and feeling like the first few times are going to be a hassle. This post inspired me so I'm using it today for the first time. I'll see how it goes.

    No, actually, it wasn't an issue at all. Very anti-climactic!

    I didn't go the full 12 hours though, and it was only about a quarter of the way full. I imagine that if it were filled to the top, then it might get a little messy as you bend it in to take it out, but it certainly wouldn't go flying everywhere. You can pull it down enough to where you have a firm grasp on it before taking it all the way out, so it is a very controlled motion. Not like popping a cork or something!

    Update: (TMI warning!!!) I tried the Diva Cup last night for the first time. It was super easy to insert. Really, same ease as a tampon. NO leaking all night. I tried to remove it this morning in the shower and could not get a good enough grasp on that sucker for the life of me! It freaked me out a bit. But I found that it easily came out while sitting on the toilet. I am wearing it again today and I don't even feel it! I highly recommend trying it out! Just remember that squatting/sitting is the key for easy access. Oh, and the gross factor didn't even bother me. Reaching for a tampon string and wrapping a used tampon in toilet paper is just as icky, IMO.
