I have no lists, no obsessive schedule, nothing! Ugh!
Everybody ready for Thanksgiving already who is doing the cooking? I am so not! I guess I need to sit her and do my grocery list instead of playing on here. Booo.
We are going to a friend's house Wednesday night to celebrate Thanksgiving (both our hubbys have to work on Thanksgiving)
Then we are doing Thanksgiving with my parents the following week because they are volunteering the day before and Thanksgiving day.
Sooooo yeah. I am going to make a pecan pie and pumpkin pie and an appetizer to bring for Wednesday and booze, of course. I am actually getting my list together now for shopping tomorrow or the next day!
Kate, you're cooking??? That seems insane to me! I thought I would have to but a friend invited us over. I so do not have the energy to make a feast this year.
I am going to my parents for thanks giving. They are making the Turkey and dressing. Other aunts and cousins are making the sides. I think I am going to make fruit salad. I won't even have to turn on the oven, yo.
Yes I'm cooking! I'm determined to spend the day just the three of us, so that means it's all me. I wanted one last holiday just our little family, so we turned down invites to my parents and DH's brothers in favor of a relaxing day at home with all the foods I love. My aunt is making me a big pan of dressing {stuffing?!} and freezing it before she leaves for the beach this weekend. That's the most involved with the cooking of the cornbread, etc. So I've just got the turkey, cauliflower, potatoes and green beans to do. Oh and DD and I are making pumpkin gingersnap parfaits!
I am not ready at all. I am still not even sure what we are doing on Thanksgiving. My BIL is a pilot and has a layover in our city from 2pm on Thanksgiving until Friday morning so MIL is coming over as well. MIL said we could just go out but I am not sure I want to. we are having thanksgiving dinner with my family on Saturday. My mom still has not told me what she wants me to bring.
Not even close. DH does the cooking but I do all the shopping. He hasn't even started a list yet. We're very laid back and last minute so I have a feeling it won't get done until next week.
He did make a ton of turkey stock yesterday. I think he dirtied every pan we had in the kitchen but he made a huge batch of stock for Thanksgiving. Aside from that we have done absolutely nothing.
Cleaning people come on Friday so we just have to keep the house presentable for a week. With my kids, that's highly unlikely. Luckily it's only my family that's coming over and we are very casual.
I am cooking everything for 4 adults and 3 kids. I have the turkey bought and I finished my grocery list and cooking schedule today. I also bought cute place settings for the kids' table a few weeks ago at PB Kids. I couldn't resist the cuteness! I just need to go grocery shopping and do some prep cooking.
I am a taking a personal day off of work on Friday to finish Hanukkah shopping and wrap the gifts.
Next Wednesday I am making latkes for dinner; after Reese goes to bed making pumpkin muffins.
We aren't hosting Thanksgiving but we are bringing food--and since my BIL is expecting about 40 people, we are preparing the turkey breasts in our oven. (My MIL is making a turkey)
So Thursday I have that to do. Plus Thursday night I have to bake cookies and desserts for Hanukkah brunch on Friday.
Hanukkah and Thanksgiving really snuck up on me this year
I keep thinking Thanksgiving is this Thursday. I am cooking this year at my dad's. We live two hours away from my dad and an hour and a half from H's grandma's house. Lunch at my dad's then a (very light) dinner at H's grandma's.
Re: Thanksgiving is next week? WTF??
