@Nickiechan you're making me want to dig out the few Bum Genius 4.0s that I have and give them another shot, haha. I know a lot of people absolutely love them and I love the IDEA of them, just not the fact that they leaked so badly for us.
Did you prep them? I feel our inserts hold TONS of pee. I know some say that they didn't fit their babies as well as some of the others. If I remember correctly we did have a couple leaking problems, but that was because we didn't change his in time. Never blow outs.
Yes. And they worked for at least a month, so I'm pretty sure it was some sort of build up/residue problem. It definitely wasn't waiting too long to change because I tried pouring a little water on one and it just repelled right off and didn't absorb at all. I was still so overwhelmed with being a new mommy that I just went with prefolds and covers instead because they were working great for us.
I wonder if I comment on enough of these threads if I can get someone else to try flats lol. I love love love my flats. They were like 25 cents each and there's no need to worry about sizes. I actually enjoy folding them too. I call it diaper origami! And with the snappi it's just as easy as any other diaper IMO. Come to the dark side!!!
Convince me!!!! I keep looking at them as I am a mostly fitted and prefold lover with wool covers. They seems easy and washing seems easy. I was actually just looking at the GMD flats this evening...and then couldn't figure out if smalls or larges were actually more versatile (I have a two year old now).

@bunnyfungo talk to me about flats! Do you use a cover? What is the difference between flats and prefolds? I obvs. know very little, but I like the price lol!
You do use a cover with flats. Prefolds have layers sewn together, but a flat is literally one piece of fabric, and you'll have to fold it to get multiple layers.
And I posted this on the PSA: BG 4.0 thread - but what do you other STMs think of planning a day to post a thread of stash shots and list what we have for the first timers?

I would be in for posting stash shots...Just let me know and I will try to get it all together!

@bunnyfungo Monty is roughly 29 pounds right now but is wearing 18-24 month clothing comfortably. I think I might go for the smalls. If anything, I can use them just for the new baby. Thanks for the advice!
That would drive me crazy if they weren't square...I totally get it!
