1st Trimester

Just found out i'm pregnant....Again.

Hi, I'm Brandy and I'm already the mother of three, two boys ages 6 and 2 and a girl who passed away at two weeks plus I am the stepmom to a 10 year old girl who lives with us. I had been feeling funny lately and my period hadn't started yet so I decided to take a pregnancy test even though my husband and I have benn very very careful, Imagine my surprise when the test came back positive. Here is the thing, I'm in school, I work overnights while my husband works days and we are planning to move to a different state in aprile or may of next year. We wern't trying for a baby or even wanting one yet. While we did want one more eventually right now was not exactly it. So my emotions are torn, yes I wanted another but this is a bad time plus I am afraid my family will be mad since I am renting from my mom and I don't know when to tell them or when to tell my bosses because I physically can't do the job I'm doing much longer without provisions made so I have to see if they will transfer me to a area that has less heavy lifting. I am thinking I should wait until I have a test done by a doctor just to be sure since a couple weeks ago I took a test and it was negative.

  • Thanks Joy2611, I'll have to do that. I used the equate one that walmart sells.

  • Do another HPT. They are extremely accurate. My doctors office won't even test for pregnancies anymore since HPTs are so accurate.

  • Thank you ladies. The pregnancy test I bought had two so I went ahead and took it just to be sure and I hate waste. It stated positive again. I have been having normal symptoms ( nausea, peeing more often, some breast tingling and heaviness, mild cramping) So chances are the test are right but when I get paid I'm buying the red dye ones just to be certain. Now if I am pregnant I need to start planning everything. Does anyone know if it is safe to move cross country during pregnancy?

  • I'm not sure why it would be unsafe, everyone just kept telling me if I got pregnant I couldn't move.
  • You can move. I just did and you just need to be careful about what you carry and lift, otherwise it's perfectly fine.

  • I moved from Missouri to Camp Lejeune North Carolina at 35 weeks pregnant. What was supposed to be an 18 hour drive took us 34 hours because my German Shepherd and I had to pee every two hours and the tarp on the trailer kept coming off. You can do it :)

Just try to relax, take one thing at a time, and remember that you have months to work on each challenge.

  • Thank you ladies. I really appreciate you answering my concerns and listening to me. Now that the shock is over I am actually starting to get excited about this baby. Yeah things will be hard but I think we can do it.
