Jacob had a really bloated belly last Thursday, which was super scary too! It ended up just being air from the Cpap machine (the breathing contraption on his nose). They stopped his feeds as well and did an xray. Are they doing an X-ray? Also, is the belly hard or soft? Keep an eye on it and if you see any changes, don't be afraid to speak up to the nurse/doctors. You know your baby better than anyone there. Keep us posted. I do Hope it's nothing. Also, transfusions are common (unfortunately) and do help!
They did an X-ray last night and everything looked good and his belly's soft. They think it's the high protein formula he's on since my supply couldn't keep up and stopped.
Oh good, we want soft belly! It will go down, no worries mama. I'm struggling with my supply with each and every pumping session. I think I'm mentally losing it after four weeks of fighting my body to produce more milk. Ughhh! (Sorry for the vent)
I'm glad Ashton is doing well! Have you checked out the preemie board? A lot of my questions get answered there! Hoping for the rest of Ashton's stay to be uneventful and that he gets home soon!
I decided to stop pumping when I was getting less than a quarter of a snappie after pumping both into one. I cried the whole time and had to stop. I checked out the preemie board a few times, it's definitely helpful! Praying for you as well!
