Grandma...I mean Mom

Just dyed my hair. Now this little one won't be confused when she arrives and think I'm her grandma because of the silvery roots I had been neglecting.

It's just not fair that I started to go grey at 14! I better start investing in the hair dye industry.

  • Ooof that's rough! Have you always dyed it or just recently start?

  • Yep, 18 for me and all my cousins on both sides of the family.  It's def. the part that I'm most self conscious about!

Dyed it since I was 14. My mom didn't start to go grey until she was in her late 20s but my grandma started to go grey when she was 17. Lovely genetics.
  • doesn't it feel good! I just colored mine this week too and feel so much better. I had so much gray too :( I feel like since being pregnant it has been worse.

  • One of the best parts of being a ginger? Last to go grey! DH, already has grey in his beard.

  • I have had a grey streak at my temple since I was around 8.  I have had random stray greys since my early twenties.  I will dye my hair once it can be described as salt &  pepper.
  • Wow that's crazy! I feel like you should get a lifetime subscription price cut. I mean you are giving them plenty of business...

  • I had to do mine a few weeks ago it was getting bad. It just really started coming in with a vengeance the last few years. I wonder if mine has anything to do with my 3yr old since that's when I started really getting them.
  • I started going gray in my 20's, but I have always dyed my hair anyways. It's no fun though. I had to stop doing a dark color and go light because the dark would wash out of my gray pieces of hair so fast. You reminded me I have terrible roots and should color my hair before LO is born and I look even more of a wreck in my hospital pictures.

  • Got my first silver during this pregnancy. I ripped it out. They are a lot stronger than the rest of my hair. My mom is native American and started dying her hair in her early 20s. I'm 30 and had 1. We will see!

  • I've got a lot of genetic body issues from my mom, but this is one of hers I'm thankful for! She is 50 and still no grey.
  • I started going grey in my early 20s. I don't have too much but the majority is by my temple and I hate it. My mom is in her 50s and has very little grey my dad got grey young. He is very salt and pepper now. I take after my dad.
  • That's funny just the other day I asked my sister and mom when they had gray bc I think I see some!!
