  DS1 born 6/5/10 at 40 weeks via emergency c-section due to fetal distress and IUGR caused by placental insufficiency

  DS2 born still 8/28/13 at 32 weeks via emergency c-section due to a complete placental abruption - cause unknown

  Baby #3 on the way, EDD 2/29/16.  Originally twins, but we said goodbye to Baby B at 8 weeks.

  So, so sorry for your loss. Also sorry about the shitty ER experience. I'm glad you spoke up to them though. While they do still obviously suck, my REs office basically told me the same thing after my CP. Again, so sorry and (((hugs))) to you.

  As someone with repeat CPs, I can tell you that is fairly typical response for a doctor to say the risk of another one is low.  After my first one i was really optimistic, as i should have been and you should be.  The cause of CPs is quite different from later term losses.  CPs are usually terminal chromosomal issues...trisomy, missing chromosomal information.  Unless you have an issue like mine, this is just a fluke and you shouldn't expect a repeat.

  
  

  Exactly what happened to you at the ER is why I have always refused to go to the ER when my doctor told me to.  

  Married April 2011
  
  

  TTC since May 2011
  
  

  April 2012 first loss - CP
  
  November 2012 2nd loss - 7 weeks (though I ovulated late so it is likely a CP as well)
  Hormone workup and u/s showed everything looked fine
  
  December 2012 3rd loss - CP
  GP tested my hormones and incorrectly diagnosed me with premature ovarian failure
  (hormone testing needs to be timed with you cycle)
  
  January 2012 OB/GYN recurrent loss testing
  I do not have premature ovarian failure. 
  Dx:
  MTHFR (take a B-complex daily) - single gene
  Factor II (take a baby asprin daily) - single gene
  
  February 2013 Genetic counseling
  Dx:
  MTHFR doesn't matter (take extra B, though)
  Factor II is unlikely but possible (later miscarriages)
  Balanced Chromosome Translocation bw 5&6 (likely causing everything)
  I was given a 49% chance at success due to the chromosome issue
  
  August 2013 4th loss - CP
  
  October 2013 5th loss - CP
  Prenatal workup found that I had low progesterone
  Further testing after loss found that I had low antithrombin
  
  November 2013 RE workup
  RE told me to stop the asprin (not my issue)
  RE told me that my low progesterone was due to my body knowing the pregnancy was failing
  Dx:
  Sono-HSG - Arcuate uterus
  DH is fine, so far (still waiting on karyotyping for him)
  
  Still need to do my CD3 hormone workup
  
  

  TL;DR:  5 losses => Balanced translocation, arcuate uterus, factor II, low antithrombin, and MTHFR

  As for the first thing, you are awesome for standing up for yourself.  I'm sorry he was an asshat.

  I have a fibroid, too... Getting more info about it Friday I hope.

  I'm late in responding to this, but I wanted to send you lots of ((HUGS))!!!  I'm so very sorry that you had to go through this, especially with a-holes at the ER!  I agree that you should document your experience and send in that survey to let the administrators know what a horrible experience you had.  I hope that your appointment goes ok and that the healing part goes quickly.  Take care of yourself!!!
