GTKY: fall/winter wardrobe staples?

We're trying to stay on budget, but I was gifted some bday $ to spend on new clothes.

So if you had $250, what would you get as an addition to your fall/winter wardrobe?

I'm thinking a pair of cognac colored leather flats, new skinny jeans (you know, for that elusive day when i can wear them again), and maybe some cute lightweight cardigans...

    Hmmmm. Well fall/winter here in Orlando doesn't get too intense. So I'd go with some new jeans, cute cardigans, and maybe a cute new pair of boots rather than the flats.

    @bequietgera Yeah we're in FL too, so I picked flats instead of boots :(

    Yeah also a Floridan here. I pretty much just try wear more fall and winter colors with my shorts... Lol!
    My 2 girls, both born on a Friday the 13th, are exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 hours and 2 minutes apart! And Baby Boy joined us October 11, 2013! image

    I would love some riding boots; cardigans; shirts for easy nursing; nice jeans that lift and shape this awesome mom butt I have now.

    Texas here as well. It got down to the mid 40s a few days this week and I was still wearing flip flops. Not much of a fall wardrobe.

    Deft going to be in boots, leggings and sweater dresses until I can actually get my new mom butt in something with a waistband.

    I live in TN and it's starting to get colder. I would get a pair of boots and flats. Some skinny jeans, cute shirts, maybe a new jacket.

    Ugh my new OBSESSION is wedge sneakers I just bought 2 pairs from Aldo. I consider this my new winter mommy outfit staple. I love heels and this is my perfect comprimise.

    Boots, leggings, skinny jeans and oversized tunics, sweaters, or sweater dresses.  Scarves and a cute bag to accessorize.

    If you don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes investing in layering pieces (like the cardis you mention) is a great idea. I'd pick up some cute scarves too. And I'm a sucker for anything cognac colored!

    Riding boots, skinny jeans/stretchy jeggings, long cardis/open sweaters with long sleeve tees or a blouse underneath, belts and scarves. And I LOVE outerwear but $250 doesn't get you a lot in that department, so that's why I said scarves, love them!

    Basically I love dressing for fall/winter and can't wait to get my body back a bit so that stuff will look cute again, or I could go shopping, I love shopping!!
