DD has outgrown a lot of the toys she has and I'm curious to know what your LOs are playing with these days. I'm sure a lot of them are busy crawling and climbing up on things (like mine is), but is anything captivating their attention for more than a couple of minutes? I Just don't want to spend money on things she won't enjoy for very long!
TIA
Other than crawling and wanting to be walked, he only really enjoys his books. He can sit through several readings in a row of books. That's about it, other than his childcare provider just started introducing the toys that they stand at and eventually walk with. He likes that a lot, too.
My DS has a set of plastic blocks which he really enjoys. He also loves pushing the empty diaper box around (econo size diaper box) and uses it as his "walker" in his room. He is enjoying wooden spoons too and loves his set of rings. It seems the old school toys are the biggest hit with him.
Another favorite is tearing up any piece of paper he can find. lol
My dd is more interested in exploring the house now that she's crawling.... She especially likes shoes, slippers and the tv remote. No toys capture her attention like those items. She's starting to like books now too.
Thanks Ladies! DD enjoys books also, I'm thinking of getting her some Touch and feel ones. But @luvbug you are right, at this point they are more interested in exploring!
Haha yes, the remote, my grocery list, or any small item on the carpet are her top choices these days
We have a set of the soft blocks (the B. brand) that she does play with a lot, and also a set of nesting cups that attach together to make a ball - just got those out and she loves banging them together and puting the smaller ones inside the bigger ones.
Most were recommendations from friends for this age range. I'm pretty sure she'll enjoy the boxes these items come in more than the actual toys, but it's something for all the relatives that want to get her toys
A loves the TV remote, restaurant menus, cell phones and mommy's water bottle. But we just bought her a fisher price TV remote and she loves it. She also likes the Baby Einstein musical turtle and stuffed animals.

DS loves anything he's "not supposed to have"- lotion bottle, plastic water bottle, dog's collar, and the leather strap on Mommy's Coach wristlet. Instantly drowned in drool. But he does also like his Babies'R'Us toy cell phone, a hand-knitted sock monkey, wooden spoons, cups (he freakin' LOVES cups of any kind), and anything he can gnaw on. We just got him one of those activity centers with the balls, that lays on the ground now and turns into a table later... He is really getting into it! He loves discovering all the different shapes and keys and levers and noises... Ughhhh.... The noises.... Anyone else HATE the noises/songs/voices in all their kid's toys? Drives me crazy!!!
He doesn't quite get the ball-goes-in-the-hoop for the sports one, but he loves the football and baseball and he figured out how to push the switch with his hand to trigger the noise meant for when you put the ball through the hoop. As for the musical pushing thing, he doesn't walk with it yet, but he loves to push it around while sitting/crawling (it plays music when he does) and loves all the buttons.
We have a baby Einstein piano table that DS loves. Otherwise he's in to whatever he shouldn't be. He particularly enjoys tearing apart his foam play mat and trying to eat it

Yep, DS pulls his play mat apart and eats the borders. I laugh when I sent him crawling around with one of the borders in his mouth - he looks like a dog carrying a toy.
tv remote and cell phone here too. If you take out a battery to the remote before giving to LO, then they can't change the channel on you.
credit cards - I have some expired cards and hotel room keys
books, sound boards, jump-a-roo, stuffed animals *with tags* (think the little tags are more amusing than the stuffed animal itself), balls
really anything she can hold she is interested in. I keep a box of holdable stuff in the living room and dump it out for her when she's in her play yard or on the floor.
