Sam had his first overnight with grammy last night. It was our anniversary so he was there for a full 24 hours while DH and I went downtown Chicago and hung out, had dinner, hung out in our old neighborhood. Woot!

He's had a cold all week, but nothing too bad. Still I felt a little guilty leaving him. She kept him though his first nap time today, and he slept for 3 hours and woke up with a fever. Then he fell asleep in his carseat on the way home, and was just a fussy mess this afternoon. He kept rubbing his right eye and after his second nap, it was starting to turn red/purple from all the rubbing.

So, off to immediate care we went - diagnosis, ear infection. I was so afraid I was being an overprotective first time mom, but I've read enough descriptions of these to know the warning signs. Glad we went in and got him started on antibiotics. Hopefully he'll get a good night's sleep here.
