Caleb is my #1 choice right now for a boy. I don't think it's too close to Caden at all, the only thing is that they both start with a C, but they don't have the same sound really.
Besides, how close are 2nd cousins going to be, especially as adults, which is the majority of their life with their name? It's cool if you want to avoid it for other reasons, but if you were both in love with a name, I wouldn't let the fact that some cousin or random friend used it too (or something that's kind of sort of similar, but not really) dissuade you.
Caleb isn't my #1 choice so maybe that making me a little biased and just saying they're too similar. DH has a really small family, so they probably will grow up being rather close. We initially liked Aiden but that is definitely too similar!
For a boy: James Henry V (passed down, so this will stick) For a girl: We both really like the name Ellie. Though I'd like for there to be a more formal name she could revert to at times (I'm picturing her resume 25 yrs from now, lol). Maybe Elizabeth? I don't love the name Elizabeth, but I also don't mind it. So I'm interested to find other options. MN is undecided. Maybe we'll use a family name.
Also, we will NOT be soliciting opinions from family/friends once we've decided on everything we like. It will be a secret until the baby is in our arms!
I like a lot of these names!
Girl: maybe Victoria (Tori) or Tenley
Boy: probably a junior nicknamed Jack
D (34), J (37) and T3 (ages 2, 2 and brand new)

We like Dania for a girl but were having trouble with a boys name now because of the triple language thing. We need a name that works in Arabic, English and German and it's HARD.

Madison is NMS but I love Hadley! It was the name of Ernest Hemingway's first wife, which is why I am drawn to it, despite the fact that I have yet to read a book of his I actually liked.
Every time I bring this up to my DH he's like "it's too early to think of names" (I'm 10w1d). I think it's due to the fact that our first ended in a loss. However, I have an extensive list to be discussed.
My fandom favorites are:
boy - Arthur Evan (Because I know my hubby would have a fit if I even attempted Albus)
girl - Arianna Mae (for the non-Harry Potter fans, Arianna was Dumbledore's sisters' name)
In all seriousness we know for sure the first name will start with an "A" since that is both H and my initials (AMA & AFA). We'll likely have a Jr if it's a boy and in the past we discussed the name Aralyn (combo of DH and my mn) for a girl.
Hopefully after my appointment next week when the baby looks more like a baby than a gummy-bear we can start making a serious list.

I lean more toward Hadley, my SO is more for Madison.... and we keep getting even votes! we may just have to wait until we're forced to choose one haha
We've NEVER been able to agree on girls names. Even with my daughter, we fought over names almost daily. I finally decided I liked Ava Faith and just started calling her that. It grew on him I guess and he started telling his friends how much he loved her name. And again this time we can't agree on any girl name contenders. Though this time I'm not backing down on my favorite just yet.
Our boy name we like will be either Charles Edward (personal favorite) or Charles Matthew
My girl name is Braelyn Grace
The only name my SO and I have both liked so far is for a boy : Gannon
He was reading names and really liked it, when I first heard it I was like "hmmm that will have to grow on me" -and it has. I've gotten a few "we'll that's interesting" but I don't know any and we like it so :P
I wish I liked any girl names but I feel like I just read the same ones over and over. I have a handful I like but nothing I'm crazy about! Bummer cause I just know it's going to be a girl (we want a boy)
I love it!!! It's so video game-ish was that your intention?
Beatrice- bfp September 16 2013, born February 1 2014 died later same day.
If it's a boy, he will be Brady. Not sure of a middle name yet, possibly William, Eric, or Charles. (all family names) That was the boy name we didn't use when we were team green last time, so it was easy.
We won't discuss girl names until we find out at our big ultrasound if we need to have that discussion. We have very different tastes in girl names. My current favorites are Caroline, Audrey, and Juliet.
My sister is prego too and has Oliver on her list [she's def having a boy.] She doesn't know about our little bundle yet so I'll have to re-think if she uses it.
Girl: Maple or Cerridwen [nn: Ceri, it's a K sound, like Kerry]
My MIL was pretty rude about Maple just reminding her of pancakes... so I'm not sure anymore
What about Mabel? It's very close but more commonly associated as a name, maybe that make your MIL happy.
I've always known I will ne my daughter Celia Elizabeth, for a boy, not so sure but I like Clayton and Brock. I want to go with Norbert for a middle name after my Dad and grandfather. Hubby keeps saying we don't have to think about boy names as this is a girl!!!!

I once worked with a woman named Eleanor. She went by Elly or Ellie...I forget how she spelled her nn.
I like Cullen, too. I suggested it to my husband. A little nod to my Twilight obsession I had. I was trying to figure out if I could get away with Reneesme if its a girl, lol.
@shannon I love Ryan as a middle name for a girl. I have been considering Alllie Ryan for a girl. My brother is named Ryan and I just love it as a middle name for a girl plus it will subtly honor my brother.
Please do not flame - what do you think about Ryan for a middle name for a girl? DH and I like Caleb Nathaniel for a boy and Hannah for a girl. We can't decide on a middle name and one of us suggested Ryan and we don't hate it. I'm just not sold. Obviously with our other choices, we go more for the classic names so this seems strange.
I like Ryan for a girl ans would consider it for a FN.
