I recently got off BC in August, in preparation for trying to start a family in the future - likely in the next 6 months or so. In the meantime, my husband and I have been using good old fashion condoms, and everything was going well. On Friday, November 1st, one day after my finished period (and day 8 of my cycle), we "chanced" it. I thought nothing of it because of the fact that I had just finished my period, and how could I possibly be ovulating so early, etc. That following Monday, November 4th, I got a terrible migraine (pretty unusual timing for a migraine, although I do get them occasionally), and went to bed early and exhausted. The next few days I started getting some odd cramping. Very low, not in usual areas near my ovaries around period time. I noticed my hips hurting often, and I just found it odd. I also had some slight nausea, but again, with pregnancy not really on my mind, I chalked it up to a change in diet (eating particularly healthy that week). Finally, on Saturday, November 9th, I went to the bathroom, and noticed the oddest white, almost chunky discharge. This is when a lightbulb finally went on, and I started questioning things. Today, is Wednesday, November 13th - so approximately day 20 in my cycle. I've noticed a frequency in urination, light headedness, bloating, and continued cramping and fullness - similar to gas, but without the gas. My breasts do not hurt, but my nipples are sensitive, and I have no clue if they look different at all.
I think the soonest I can take a pregnancy test would be first thing in the morning on Friday, November 22nd, so I'm waiting until then. If not pregnancy, one thing I was considering is that this might just be a really strong ovulation? In truthfulness, it's been so long since I've been off of birth control, and with only being off of it a few months, it's hard for me to reference my past experiences.
Has anyone else had similar issues? Anyone get pregnant nearly immediately after your period ended?
Any comments and shared experiences would be helpful. Until then, I am confused, and waiting. Thanks!
Re: Initially confused. Now confused, and waiting.
Uh, on cd20 even if one o'd on cd11 you need not worry about drinking alcohol..
Uh, I'd say the majority of people drink while ttc--go poll the ttgp board and you'll see. I've never heard of an ob recommending complete abstinence of alcohol. I don't think anyone should get blackout drunk regardless if they're ttc or not. You can continue to live your life normally with the exception if your normal consists of shooting up heroin.
