When we got married we were talking 5-6. DH is from a family of 5 boys and I've always loved the idea of having a big family. But c-sections are limiting that number. Yes adoption is possible and semi-likely, but I chose 4 simply because it seemed more realistic.
Right now, I'm pretty sure we'll be done at three so I put that down. But I'm not completely closing the door on the possibility of number four sometime in the future.
This is us. 3 has been the "hope/plan" for us since we have ever talked about it. I always said I'd been fine with 2, but DH has always said 3, which I'm fine with. If the day comes after #3 & we are like.. "yea, let's do it again!" I'm not against the idea as long as it isn't putting us in the poor house.
Ehhh, I just don't know. Can I wait and see how we handle baby #1 before deciding? Lol I never wanted a lot of kids, I always figured 3 was the max (I actually have 3 siblings and wasn't a fan of having such a large family…weird, I know). I think we'll just have to evaluate how one works and if we can afford more after that. My mom thinks we need to have at least two, though. Funny how she thinks she has a say…
I wanted 2 but when 2 and 3 came together I had no choice 3 has been bugging me for some reason. It really bugs me when I try to go for the BOGO sales. Its also hard when someone gets left out or always has to ride alone if we go somewhere fun. I also would love a boy so we decided one more to even it out and shoot for a boy. This will be it for us whatever we get. (team green)
I've always said 2 with the option for 3. DH is cool with stopping at 2. I'd prefer to wait to make any decisions about that until after our second is here.
I voted SS - We plan to have at least 3, but we really want at least one boy (we're more likely to have girls), so if we hit three and still no boy we'll try again.
Two would be nice. DH wants four, but that's not gonna happen! He wants to keep going till he gets a little boy so i'm crossing my fingers that number two will be his boy. I told him i'll go to three. Most of my reasoning is financially based.

Hopefully two for us, but now that my H is seeing how much money babies really cost he is worried about college, retirement etc and has expressed he now may only want one. I'll fight for another though and will get my way ;-)
