I have to go along with the purse club. I will buy a $200-$300 purse knowing that it is good quality and I won't need another one for a while. Not saying I haven't bought a few at the price within 6 months of each other. But I can't see spending money on a purse that will fall apart quickly. My husband fully supports me on that thought. Also I cannot wear a bra that is not from Victoria Secret. They are not the best bra I've wore but for some reason I do not like the fit of other brands. Makes no sense to me.
@JSS1002 - How is the WSJ wine club? Amex sent me an offfer to sign up for it at some huge discount and it's literally sitting on my kitchen island as I try and decide whether or not to do it.
My snobbery - well, it's a lot , but if I had to distill, I'd say it's mostly about where things are made relative to their price point. I don't mind spending money on a designer purse, but not if it's made in China. It's gotta be Italy or France. That goes for cookware, dishes, shoes, etc.
COFFEE. Needs to be Starbucks. I don't care about clothes or purses being designer (kill me before I spend more than $20 on a bag. In fact, I'm pretty sure I spent $38 one time and it's now a weekend/overnight bag). I do care about the way I look, but I can do consignment clothes
Living location. I have to be within 5 minutes of a Whole Foods. Not because I have to shop there, but because I figure that if a Whole Foods exists, the neighborhood can't be too sketchy sketch.
Diapers. I shipped Pampers to the hotel in CA, just in case I couldn't find any while traveling.
Tampax. Definitely. The ONE time I bought generic tampons, I managed to lodge half the cardboard applicator in my hoo-haa and didn't realize it until the next time I peed. (And no, my vageeeen is not some sort of cavern... I have no clue how I didn't realize this!)

All if this made me laugh out loud and I couldn't agree more with all of it
@skidderdo - we lived around the corner from the Whole Foods in Venice, CA for years and there were two shootings basically on their property - one behind the store and one on the street in front of it. One of those crazy areas where the houses are $1M, but the crime is still there.

It's good -- I don't know whether it is better or worse than any of the other wine clubs out there, but it comes with a journal and tasting notes on each bottle... my parents have been members for years, and have always fallen in love with good bottles they might not otherwise try. And then you get discounts if you want to buy additional bottles of the stuff that comes in your shipment.
@JSS1002 - Thanks! I think I'm leaning towards signing up...
I would -- the price is reasonable, I mean, if you spend $12-20 on a bottle of wine normally, it is a good deal...
Yeah, that's what I think too and I feel like I'm getting in a rut with the local stores - some of the reds we've bought weren't stored properly - and I'm just kinda bored and wanting to try some new wine, but wasn't sure if the WSJ thing was just a way to unload cheap wine at marked-up prices to unsuspecting drinkers. I have a feeling you're pretty particular, so I'm gonna trust you that they taste good

Im' pretty particular-- but I also don't think it is unloading of cheap wine; it is definitely a curated assortment, lots of thought goes into it, etc. THere's a bunch of different types of memberships you can get -- ours was mixed (red and white), and all across the world, not just a specific region, which was fun. Haven't had a bad bottle yet!

I am a snob about electronics and internet. Anything with a ping of 200ms or more is trash. Anything with download and upload speeds of 3mbps or less is trash.
I am a snob about klenix and TP! I have to have puffs plus lotion!! Also a snob about store brands but only on certain things.
I am a Coke girl all the way (boo Pepsi)
Love viva
I enjoy hand designer handbags but have a hard time justifying buying them so I only accept them as gifts
I would probably be a make up snob if I was good at putting it on my mom is not girly and I never really learned all the tricks nor what looks good on me

Yay! Signing up Cheers!
Awesome, enjoy it! We did not renew once our gift subscription ran out, but like I said, I still have like 75 bottles in my rack, leftover from not being able to drink during pregnancy! But there is something really fun about getting that big old box of wine every few months!
I apparently have become a restaurant snob since I used to be a road warrior. I always preferred local restaurants to chain restaurants whenever I was in a different city and haven't looked back since.
Makeup, wine/drinks, and fast food. I'm the same with fast food. I refuse to eat or give it to my kids. My DH thinks I'm depriving them of their childhood but I just feel like it's so unhealthy.
Restaurants. I hate chains except for Red Lobster (special place in my heart because I used to go on Black Friday with my family every year) and Cracker Barrel. I love going to the trendiest foodie restaurants. My husband will choose Chili's every day.
Also, hair and makeup. Give me the salon that serves wine please!
And I wonder why I'm never going to pay off these student loans...snob for life.
I am snobby about restaurants as well. I do not like the chains. Especially fast food and run of the mill like Applebee's, Chili's, and the like.
I feel that if I am going to eat food, I had better enjoy it since we only live once!
@kravenmoore - Ohhh! Where do you like to go? We love Ol' Heidelburg and this janky looking cajun place just south of the Tennessee River in Lacey's Spring.
I read this thread all yesterday in the car, and I couldn't think of mine till now! I guess I'm kind of a shoe snob. I love Toms, but I think Bobs are ridiculous and wouldn't be caught dead in them. Love Uggs (I live in MN so give me a break), but I hate the fake ones. I do have some shoes from Target and whatnot, but no imitations of anything.
On another note entirely, I'm sort of a steak snob. It doesn't have to be the nicest cut of meat, or terribly expensive, but it better not be cooked more than medium-rare (maaaaaybe medium. maybe.) And steak sauce? Only if it was a really bad steak to begin with. Or if someone went and burned it.
I totally forgot about this. The only kind of steak I like is filet mignon. Anything else has too much fat laced through it for my taste.

Maybe it's the marketer in me...but most of these seem like brand preference not being "snobby". I mean for those who were talking about TP do you not wipe when not at home And your brand is not available?
I used to be more snobby before I got married and could afford to be more snobby lol. I've had to let a lot of that go. I guess the one thing I don't sacrifice is where I get my haircut. I have to go to my expensive salon to get it done. I refuse to go to a SuperCuts or the like.

My uncle brings a suitcase with nothing but his favorite toilet paper on every trip he takes. He also keeps some in his car. I guess he is a true "snob". :-)
I'll happily shell out the cash for designer jeans, MAC eyeshadows and concealers, craft beer or decent Pinot Grigio, organic/natural foods (although the frugal side of me usually just sticks to the "dirty dozen" because it gets sooo expensive). It's hard not to get carried away with baby clothes but I try to buy second hand as much as possible. Then I don't feel so bad when she outgrows it..,

Yea, I know of 2 Whole Foods in sketchy locations.
I am a total sheet snob. I will on,y buy high quality thread counts and will spend $100 on a good set! Love me some good sheets!

This is opposite of me. I have a liter bottle of Barefoot Moscato in the fridge. Mmmm. I do enjoy a nice "foodie" meal out, though.
I'd be less snobby about wine if bad wine didn't give me such a raging headache.
Oky, that's not true -- my parents collect wine and I took a "wine tutorial" in college where I learned all about it (growing, making, drinking), and now I'm sort of obsessed. For a wedding gift, my parents bought us a gift subscription to the Wall Street Journal wine club -- 18 beautiful bottles every 3 months... and I got pregnant about half way through the subscription, so right now I have like 75 gorgeous bottles of expensive wine (more expnesive than I'd ever buy) in my house, just waiting to be tasted!
Although for white wine, I usually just stick to Bota Box pinot grigio... I'm talking about red wine.
More proof that we are the same person! Love me some wine, especially the good stuff, and very jealous of your full wine rack!
Have you ever had Silver Oak? I got introduced to the cab at a work dinner last year.....uh-mazing!!!!!!!! And I recently got two bottles as a gift from a vendor at work, I nearly died when I googled the price and found out its almost $100!

I forgot one! Tex-Mex. my h and I both, being misplaced Texans named ourselves "Mexican food snobs" after trying some pretty terrible restaurants and badly missing our favorite places back home.
