FB friend named her baby this yesterday. I don't think it will ever be anything but old lady to me!
Is this one of those names that is making a comeback? What do you think, old lady or fresh and unexpected?

I'll be the weird one (always). I kind of love Maude. I mean, I can't hear it without hearing "And then there's Maude!" in my head, but I still really like it. It has moxie, to me, and feels kind of flapper-ish. I group it with Blanche and Velma, though I also think it has a so-ugly-it's-cute vibe, like Gretchen.
I don't see it growing in popularity, though.
Also, @JaysonandKristin, did I totally miss you having your baby? Congratulations!

Yeah, Maude would not be in my top 10 if I had a most hated list.
Honestly, I like/dislike Maude as much as I do Maeve, but people here love Maeve and hate Maude. Of course, I think Maeve makes me think of Mavis.
Yeah, I don't think it's weird no one likes it; it's not the kind of old lady name that's in vogue right now. I just think it's weird it's getting such a passionate level of hatred. It's a legit name. Lest we forget, children are senselessly named Nevaeh every day!
