Back from RE with not so great news.

I'm pretty emotional so please excuse any typos. I also just wrote this all out and my internet froze, so sorry if it post twice.
Me: Everything is fine, tubes are clear, no problems showing on my ultrasound, no PCOS, and no IR.
H's SA:
Concentration: 0
Volume: 2.5
Motility: 0
Total Motile Cells: 0
So....there is our problem.
Our RE is optimistic that b/c this is secondary IF, the reason H has no sperm could be from a blockage. He does have a varicocele, but it wasn't a problem conceiving DD. H has has multiple health issues over the past 2 years, including a surgery, and 3 blood transfusions. RE does not feel that any of this is the cause, but he isn't sure. He refereed us to a Urologist who specializes in IF for more testing.
The testing will reveal that either H infact is not producing sperm, or that there is a blockage. If it's a blockage, they will do a sperm retrieval from behind the blockage, and then straight to ICIS IVF. They have some great IVF options for payment, b/c we all OOP, we were relieved to hear this.
If he is not producing sperm, we will move to a sperm donor or adoption.
I held it together for about 5 seconds after he said "zero sperm" and then the flood gates opened. We are devastated, but he kept reminding us that 10 years ago, sperm retrieval wasn't an option, and now it is very successful. We are lucky to live in DC where there are many many great resources for this, and we are seeing one of the top RE's in the area. He was optimistic that if they can get sperm from H (he said even 5-10 spermies will do) we can start IVF next cycle.
I don't know anything about IVF, or sperm retrieval, so I am going to be doing a lot of research over the next couple of weeks while we wait for H's testing to be completed.
He said that getting pregnant naturally would, at this point, would be scientifically impossible.
If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! I will gladly except creeping internet stranger hugs today, or any information anyone has on sperm retreval, or working with these numbers.

September 2013: New Doctor: 50 mg Clomid CD 5-9 & IUI #1 = BFN

April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if
it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF
June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!
June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue
is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.

Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.
Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

I'm sorry that you got bad news.
I can tell you from experience (We have done 2 rounds of IVF) that IVF sounds a lot scarier than it actually is (although the financial part is scary, we are OOP as well).

October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos
November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues
April 2015: FET #2.1
