As of right now how many kids do you *hope/plan* to have?

(*hope/plan* meaning a realistic estimate not wishful thinking)

Right now, I'm pretty sure we'll be done at three so I put that down. But I'm not completely closing the door on the possibility of number four sometime in the future.

@wilburbud - I was going to add "As much as God will let me" to reflect the Duggar option but given that the board has been a bit testy lately I thought I'd better stick to safer language.

The SS could be those that are undecided. I put two, but to be honest, we are not ready to close the door on a third.

Ideally we would like one of each, but we have decided that if our next one is a boy we'd try for a third to see if we got a girl, but three kids is max.

I would like two. A third starts to be a little bit of a challenge (money, resources, time, etc). I am one of three. but I wouldn't be upset if it happens.

I put two, because that's what DH and I have discussed. We plan to have serious conversations after LO is here, because I want my children to be close in age (a year to year and a half difference). He knows that I want to have more children, and he doesn't really want to, but since we are first time parents we will see how this goes and figure it out as we go along. But he knows that I want to be pregnant again.

In my mind, I don't know why but I see us ending up with three boys.

That said, there will be no more children until we get out of our apartment and into a bigger house / place, which likely means leaving NYC. So a few years yet...

Right now DH and I are both saying three. We definitely don't want this one to be a lonely only, and we'd want to have them close in age but not too close (2-3 years). Whenever we share this plan with family, they kind of laugh at us and tell us "yeah, we'll see about that", so maybe we're being naive? At this point it's still our plan, but we'll just probably keep it to ourselves going forward.

We're done after this one. Took awhile to get DH on board with this but it just makes sense for our family especially financially. If this had been another boy DH wanted to try for a third boy (he's one of three boys) but I knew I was done after this one no matter what.

In another life when money would be no object I'd be open to the possibility of 3 or 4 but two is good for us.

DH wants 2, I want 4 so we are compromising with 3. He only grew up with a younger sister while my family had 7, I was the middle child. So I don't really see 4 or 5 as being a lot of kids.

Right now, we're both thinking that we're one and done. But we caveat that by saying we'll see how this one goes.

We're done at two. Before DD, we thought if we ended up with two of the same sex, we'd go for three. Then DH went golfing with a guy who did that after having two girls--they had twin girls. Twins run in my family, so we knew we were done after this one even before we found out he was a boy.

I voted 2 to be a little more realistic though since both DH and I are only one of two kids in our families I always thought maybe if I had another sibling I'd have someone to get along with better (now my older sis is my BFF). Plus for some reason a family of 2 kids seems small to me. So I'd like 3 but think 2 is more practical.

We are planning 6, but not all of them will be biological. Judging by how I'm feeling now, 4 is the biological number and we'll adopt 2, but that could all change super fast too.

I used to say I wanted more than one, but no more than three. Over the summer our three nieces stayed with us for a week and it made me think that maybe three isn't our number..

We are on the fence about having one more after Mia. I want one more to have three children [four if you include Devon], but H says he's content with just two. We'll see. I'm still pushing for one more child, though.

We had always planned on 4, but reevaluated and, especially after all the PTL concerns this time, decided we are satisfied with 3. And, also, H doesn't want to risk having 3 girls

@KimberlyTX- DH is the same way! I would think "you know it would be nice to have a boy..." but after 2 girls in a row who knows how many more it would take to get a boy..lol..and it's not incredibly important to us the gender of our children. But I've said to DH "would you want to risk it for another to get another girl?"...and as much as he loves his girls he already thinks he's going to die during the teen years..lol

We both come from large families, and have decided that we would like to have 2 and be done. I am so happy to have two boys that will be close in age. I know that there will be some rough years, but the Idea of these two being best friends completely melts me.

I always thought I wanted a big family, like at least 4. Currently...I'm feeling like I'm cool with 2, DH is cool with 2 so I think we might be done. Seriously, the only thing that holds me back is that I'm 25 and I don't want to make permanent decisions that I'll regret in 10 years, where it could still be very possible that I could have more kids..so I guess we'll see. But currently it seems like 2 is our number.

I did SS because we are IVF and while I "hope" for more, it is unknown if it will work and it depends on how many treatments we can afford. I felt the unknowns fell into your "wishful thinking" category.

We are on #4 and both agree we are done. BFF isn't so sure. LOL She thinks we will end up with 6 (which was the number I wanted since high school). The only way that would happen though is if DH's vasectomy fails (happening after this baby is born) and I end up pg with twins...

We've both always said 2, but now that #1 is a girl, I have a feeling that if #2 is also a girl, we'll be trying for #3. We'll definitely need a bigger house by then though, and I'll be late 30's and DH will be 40ish, so there'll be some serious talks first....

Most likely we will have 3, but it could really be anywhere from 2-4 depending on how this transition to 2 kids goes.

This is us as well - DH wants a third, but I want to adjust to being the mother of 2 before I decide either way.

@KimberlyTX - that's what happened to my sister! They had two girls, were undecided about going for a third and then got twin girls

I said 2. DH and I are each one of 3. But DH is the middle child, the only boy, and as he puts it "the least favorite" so he is anti-three because of how many family trips he sat in the middle seat and slept on the pullout couch lol.
