Anyone else here have thyroid issues from pregnancy. I'm 10 weeks and my thyroid swelled up the size of a baseball so I went to urgent care. Have to wait until morning to get an ultrasound done on my thyroid.
My thyroid has not physically changed size to my knowledge, but my levels are definitely fluctuating. I'm on meds for being hypo normally, and to be expected, my lab results came back with me having to up my dose to bring me back to normal since being pregnant. I hope your U/S goes well, that doesn't sound pleasant to deal with at all!
I'm hypo normally so I'm being treated but my levels haven't fluctuated. Sorry you're dealing with this.

I've had thyroid issues since 4th grade and when I became pregnant my thyroid specialist wants to see my every 4 weeks to check my levels. My medicine did need to change when I was 5 weeks but it stayed the same the most recent time I've seen him! You'll be ok! It's nothing to stress about! And baby is going to be fine! Just make sure from here on out they keep an eye on it!
as I started the process of having a kid they found my levels to be very high so they put me on synthroid to help bring it down. its been over a year and they finally have it under control. its definitely something to have checked so they can monitor it.
I've been having thyroid problems for a few years. My doctor has been expecting to have to put me on medication, so when I went to my new OB they tested my TSH, which instead of coming back high (like usual) came back low, and now they want to medicate me. Yayyyy....anyway, I hope your u/s goes well!!!
I found out last spring that I'm hyper. i discovered it when my thyroid got enlarged and I felt pressure on my neck. They put me on steroids to shrink it and medicine to keep my levels normal. Now that I'm pregnant, she has me on ptu which doesn't cross the placenta, so it's totally safe. I get blood work done every two weeks to make sure my levels stay in the normal range. I was concerned because recently it looked enlarged again, but my endocrinologist said as long as I can swallow fine then I shouldn't worry. She said pregnancy can make it enlarged a bit. Pregnancy is known to cause or trigger thyroid issues so make sure to get your levels checked if you have symptoms.
I have hashimotos (hypo) and my levels are messing up. TSH was 2.5 while TTC and we increased my dose slightly to get my TSH just under 2. Instead after my BFP it jumped up to 4.0 so I have done another dose increase. I go back in a few weeks for labs and follow up.
I also tend to have sonograms and biopsies on my thyroid while pregnant.
After my first appointment my blood work showed that I had hypo. My normal doctor emailed me and said he wanted to test me again in 6 weeks. I asked if I needed any medicine to regulate it so it would affect the baby. His response, "wow I didn't even catch that you were pregnant, I'll check you after you have the baby." It worried me that they were concerned originally and now he wants to wait to take care of it. I see another doctor on Wednesday and I'm going to get her opinion on it.
FYI: You should have your thyroid checked each trimester if you have thyroid issues.
