Re: My heart is breaking for my little fur baby *UPDATE*

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your poor dog! When we had our cats declawed (brothers named Sam and Dean) we had to leave them for 2 nights and I bawled both days after work. I called the vet to check up on them and cried on the phone with them. I couldn't handle it lol

  • Your dog is gorgeous!!!!! I hope Dakota feels better soon!!!!!!!
  • Sending thoughts your way--My cat went blind suddenly a few weeks ago (and got better after a dose of antibiotics), but the entire time she couldn't see, I was so scared for her. So I spent a lot of time crying too. It's crazy we can feel so much pain for our pets! Just shows our capacity to love. Sending hugs to you and Dakota--she's a gorgeous pup!

  • I know how you feel my yorkie had parvovirus when he was 6 months old, even though he had all his shots! His mothers immune system protected him longer so the shots didn't take into effect, he almost died and was at the vet for a week! I am sure the vet could not wait to get him out of there I called twice a day to check on him until he could come home. Phoenix now has major separation anxiety when we leave him!! It breaks my heart, to leave him we even got our Maltese to hopefully help with that so he wouldn't feel so alone!! Well that didn't work!!! I will keep your sweet fur baby in my prayers I know how bad it feels!!!
  • Poor munchkin!! So sorry for your baby, T&P for a quick recovery. I would be a wreck too.
  • Praying your little fur baby is ok!! I can't even stand hearing my poor little kitty making mewing noises when she's scared sitting in her crate to go to the vet! I can't imagine if I had to leave her there!! At least they can fix her up. Hope things go better for you soon and she's home safe and sound and healing well!

  • kristine526 - I just received a phone call 10 minutes ago from the surgeon. They have been monitoring her and looks like the surgery went well. He told me that she has been eating but vomiting her food up so they want to continue to see how she progresses through the day :( I have to call them back at 4PM to get an update on her condition and see if it's even possible to take her home. I will try and post pictures and another update tonight if I can go and get her. FX!

I'm glad that surgery went well. If it makes you feel any better, I always puke after surgery too and I'm perfectly fine. :) Hopefully you can bring her home soon and get her on the road to recovery!! :) Thinking of you today!

  • Awww sweet little Dakota! I'm sure she has missed you so much! I bet she is very happy to be home. Glad she is doing better and hopefully recovers quick.
  • My 6 month old lab puppy had arthroscopic surgery on both shoulders three weeks ago and has had to be carried everywhere since then. It's super hard to keep a baby lab still but we are doing our best and she seems to be recovering. I am going to have giant biceps by the time she is fully healed as she weighs about 45 lbs. Thank god for insurance though! Hope your fur baby feels better soon.
  • So glad your baby is home. I totally just bawled reading your update. DH doesn't even ask why anymore. Damn hormones.

  • Poor little doll. Hope she has a quick and smooth recovery!
  • This story just broken heart because I know exactly how you felt when you found out it was broken. After getting my dog he jumped out of someone's arms to get to me and broke 3 of his toes. He just yelped and snuggled into me like he wanted me to fix it and the lady that was holding him said maybe it was just hurt so we waited and then when he tried to walk he fell and yelped again. I took him to the ER vet as well where I found out what happened and just felt so awful! He didn't let that cast get in his way though. They wanted me to cage him for 6 weeks so he didn't move on it but he just figured it out he would put it out to the side and just run or walk around. He's pretty stubborn lol. I just couldn't keep him caged he was a puppy and wanted to play. I think sometimes you know what's best for your dog. Glad you were able to take your dog home!

  • I had to leave my cat at the vet for two hours so they could try and collect urine from him and I cried the entire 30 min ride home. That was the day I found out I'm pregnant.
  • So glad Dakota is home!!! I started crying when I saw the photos--poor pup! Thanks for updating us!

  • I'm so sorry about your dog! I would do anything to save my little munchkin. Vet prices in nyc are ridiculously high. I hope your pup makes a full speedy recovery. Lots of hugs and kisses to your doggy.
  • I am so sorry that your Dakota needed surgery, but glad it went well and she is home. I had to also pay thousands for a surgery for my previous boxer, however his heart stopped and they could not revive him, so I am happy that you were able to bring her home and I pray she recovers quickly.
