Still not done but you do have to remember the more people really love your writing and the more they get into the more you're going to tear at their hearts and the more painful the read is going to be. So while we do not actually dislike your awesome writing, we may dislike that these characters we have all come to covet and want to hug are suddenly having terrible things happen to them. So for instance, if when I get finished and come to the scary moment clearly coming up, and I start making angry incoherent noises, it doesn't mean I don't love you and the way you write :P
Oh, also it appears Lexi is more sensitive to the idea of fictional kids killing and etc than I am. Sorry @lexilupin. I feel bad that you will never know the dark fantasticness that is the HG series on film.
@lexilupin no I get it. I was actually thinking about it while I did laundry - I'm sure this and HG hit you guys in a different way than it does me. For you guys there's an element of "omg these are kids I have kids wtf this is so messed up" (that's a brilliant paraphrase, don't lie to me) whereas for me it's more disbelief - "hahaha I can't even kill flies how are kids my age killing people." Unfortunately, younger kids being in wars and killing people is actually happening in certain countries and conflicts and you can't really not believe in that so it doesn't work all the time but it does work in a weird way to get me through HG without being freaked out the way a normal person in touch with their feelings would.
But see this is totally relevant to Sookie because then she's learning extra stuff about people's reactions based on ages and stuffs. TOTALLY RELEVANT. Right @sookiefrackhouse86?
Well, that last bit was fucking intense. I'm going to work backwards on my feelings here.
I wanted the leader to die. So, you did a good job making him a fucking piece of shit.
My heart broke for dorm guy. He was unnerving, and yet so sad, and I wanted them to be able to help him.
Is Micah a genius? It's hard to remember he's 7, because he's so smart. I'm pretty sure that I was still pretending to be a dog when I was 7, so he's kind of mind blowing-ly smart, to me. At the same time, in hard parts of the story, he definitely behaves in a very child like way, that grounds him more in that age range for me. During banter, however, it kind of slips away.
Yeah, I mean, no matter how good and well-written a book is, it's never exactly fun to read about
(spoiler alert)
someone singing to a little boy to try to distract him from teenagers getting brutally mauled a few feet away. Just because it makes a point to be explored doesn't make it not horrifying.
(Coming from the girl who refuses to watch Hunger Games because the concept of kids killing one another is bad enough on paper and who the fuck wants to see it on screen too?)
You should rent this movie called Battle Royale. Totally awesome. Makes Hunger Games look like Love Actually, and was never officially released in the US due to being too violent.
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.

When someone explained HG to me, my immediate response was, "So, is it like Battle Royale?" I've never seen the movie, but the book was intense.
God @luckydad why all the big words? :P ps I'm pretty sure I know what amalgamation is. I think. I just enjoyed Sookie responding to your hotness comment with "Tilly's a hor."

I need to use big words to futily try to prove how smart I am. Plus, amalgamation is just such an awesome word and a shorter way of saying "combining the traits of two (or more) real person to create a character that is at once unique yet familiar".
I forgot to reply back with "Single Lucky would not have minded."

Haha okay I was thinking "composite" so I'm going with CLOSE ENOUGH DING DING DING KJL wins. She does sound hot regardless of her horishness. Which is why I need Sookie to confirm all this but she's igging me! Gawd @sookiefrackhouse86.

GD you and your cliffhangers this doesn't happen when books are published in full print all at once :P
Sorry @lexilupin. I feel bad that you will never know the dark fantasticness that is the HG series on film.
tl;dr: I'm the weird one here. Not you :P
TOTALLY RELEVANT.
