I brought this up on the December loss board, but thought I would share with everyone here.  I was trying to think of something to help get through December a little easier this year, since we expected to have a LO by Christmas.  I saw the idea on pinterest to do an advent activity calendar.  You can get ideas just by googling, but I’ll share some of the things we may do.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I’m still adding things, then I’ll go over the list with DH, and we’ll decide which ones we want to do.  I’m going to randomly put them in envelopes and label them, that way it’s a surprise to both of us.  (May specify certain things for weekends though, for time.) 

Here are some of my thoughts:

Buy a toy to donate to Toys for Tots.
Build a gingerbread house.
Bake & decorate cookies.
Write notes for each other, place in stockings.
Take $10, go shopping for each other’s stocking stuffers.
Find a local animal shelter & buy items on their wanted list to donate.
Make a donation to a local food pantry.
Go ice skating.
Date night out to dinner.
Wrap presents & listen to Christmas music.
Drink eggnog.
Hot cocoa bar.
Donating wanted items to local children’s hospital.
Make cards for parents.
Do a Christmas crossword puzzle.
Game night.
Watch a Christmas movie.
Exercise together.
Buy (or make) a Christmas ornament.
Make paper snowflakes.
Fondue night.
Decorate Christmas tree.

 

I still need to come up with a few more ideas.  Feel free to give any suggestions you have!   I’d love to hear some other ideas.  Just wanted to share what I had found for those that may be interested in doing something similar.  :)

Cycle 24 - 26: natural cycle w/ acupuncture + Chinese herbs = BFN
Cycle 27: Follistim + IUI#4 = BFFN
Natural Cycles until IVF
Cycle 30: IVF#1 - Starting with Menopur + Follistim + Ganirelix
17 retrieved, 12 fertilized, 5dt w/ 2 blasts, 5 frosties
Betas:  #1-156(9dp5dt), #2-1200(13dp5) #3-6112(17dp5)
Ultrasound #1 10/6: 1 bean!

    This is a really nice idea, thanks for sharing. Marianne's EDD was xmas day, so I'm also having a lot of anxiety and sadness as we creepy closer to the holidays.

    A few other suggestions, off the top of my head:

    - Send a friend a postcard

    -Take a picture outside (ie winter landscape, or one of you and DH), print it out (and frame it if you want)

    - Read or listen to a funny story ("Dave Cooks the Turkey" by Stuart McLean is a good one)

    - Wear an "ugly holiday sweater" one night, take a pic

    I'm making an activity advent calendar this year too! I haven't sat down and made a list of of activities yet but I may use some of yours to help fuel my brain.
