Tuesday Appointments!

I have my first doctors appointment today and I am on a whole new level of scared/worried/excited and more worried.
I have decided to tell my parents tomorrow and they are going to be so disappointed in me.
I am 22, don't have a full time job (just an occasional nanny), am not with the dad (long story but he's one of my best friends, got drunk and emotional at a wedding) and I start school in September which I fully still plan on taking. I'm just worried they'll be really angry and disappointed in me. And I want this to be a happy/exciting time.
This is more of a rant/story then anything else.
Anyone else have dr appts today ?!

I get to hear the heartbeat for the first time today! We will meet the doctor, as well, which I'm really excited about!

I have an appointment at 3:20 EST. I'm really excited and nervous--I haven't seen an actual doctor in over a month, and I'm REALLY hoping they try to get the heartbeat on the doppler. I know that I will feel a lot better if I hear that heart beating today!

Today is the much awaiting day. I have an us at 11:20 central to see if my baby has grown.

My husband said he is definitely not going to miss this appt (he's never missed any)

I'm terrified, I want to vomit! I guess I'll know in a few hours if I get to stay on this board or if I will be leaving yet another BMB.

I have an ultrasound today because of spotting and pain on my right side. :-S My first appointment isn't until tomorrow. Freaking out a little (ok, a lot). My babysitter got called in to work, so right now I'm struggling to find somebody to watch our two year old so my husband doesn't have to come home from work (he's in an all day meeting to learn the new software they are switching too). I hate not living near family.

Good luch with the parents. Remember, it is your baby, not theirs. You are old enoguh to make your own decisions. If they get upset, just prove them wrong! Good luck at your appointment

I have my 2nd ultrasound today at 1 pm EST and my 2nd OB appointment at 3:15 EST. I'm a mess about them. I've had brownish spotting off and on since Sunday. I'm praying that everything goes well.

I have my first u/s today!!! My appt. is at 2:30 ET. I am really excited but also really nervous. Since this is my first go-round, I really don't know what to expect, and I am just worrying they won't see what we hope and expect to see. Normal worries, I guess. I am glad my husband is going to be there with me, though.

@Thatkelsgirl Hang in there - hopefully they will see this as a blessing! Hugs to you.

I have my first appt with my doctor today! I am 9w5d and I know he will try to find the hb with his doppler. This is the same appt where he ultimately discovered that I had had a MMC over two years ago so it is a bit nerve wracking!

@thatkelsgirl, hopefully your parents will be open-minded and will see how mature you really are. I agree with PPs; if they're negative, prove them wrong!

@JenniCollins - I bring my 3-year-old to a lot of appointments. It's NBD with the practice - I just give him my phone if it's gonna be a transvaginal ultrasound. I have family around, but no way could I schedule every appointment around their availability. Worth asking about! (Or just doing. Ha.)

I have an appointment at 1:15 pm EST. It's just an intake appointment - I had an ultrasound last week at 7w4d (early since I've had 2 miscarriages this year.) Hoping to beg to schedule one or two more ultrasounds before the end of the trimester! Good luck ladies, and @pintobean39, hope you get to stick around! (And your name always makes me want refried beans. Just thought you should know.)

I have my 11 week appointment today and I'm just as nervous. I've had a previous loss and every appointment is nerve racking.

I'm 22 also by the way, and starting school in jan. Everything falls into place, just gotta stay focused!

Good luck everyone! I actually have an appt with a dietician today, which I'm looking forward to. I have type one diabetes, and just want to be sure that I'm making good, healthy food choices for baby and I, without disrupting my blood sugar levels. Hope it goes well, and is informative.

My appt for Friday just got rescheduled to this afternoon (otherwise a tired, hungry 18 month would have to come with me, no thanks!). It's at 2:30 EST, it's a normal old monthly check in with the OB. Hoping to hear the hb

I have my first us today at 10:30pst and am a nervous wreck. I feel like I'm going back to the room of doom and gloom since it was exactly where I discovered my last mc.

I ended up sleeping thru my alarm clock. I called in to say what happened and to reschedule and got yelled at saying "the doctor is very busy, he won't be able to fit you in until next month sometime" I said "ok well do you have any suggestions what I should do in the meantime about pre-natal care?" And the receptionist said "don't get pregnant during flu season!!" And hung up! Time to switch drs.

While that might have been rude with what the nurse said you did kinda oversleep and miss your appt. You really can't expect them bend over backwards to get you in now.

I agree with Pinto. Respect goes both ways. I understand being tired - trust me on that. But at the same time, you did miss an appointment - one that they likely have a waitlist of people for, and now you are asking them to extend you a favour? That part doesn't make sense to me.

In terms of prenatal care - right now it is pretty simple. Eat healthy, sleep when you need to, and avoid stupid things like drugs and alcohol. The drs don't do too much at this time so you will totally be fine.

I'm not sure what you're so upset about, you really only have yourself to blame here. The doctor is very busy, presumably with patients who are sick and/or bother to show up for their appointments. Also, you can't expect them to dispense free medical advice over the phone.

@ellyd14 they couldn't get me in until Thursday. Over the weekend my BP shot up, which is how all the issues started with DS. They want me to have my BP taken there and my dr wants to check on the baby.

Not looking good. There is now a fetal pole and no longer a yolk sack but no heartbeat and it's only measuring another day.

My dr looked at my charts and we figured and figured. He's not giving up all hope (he said sometimes things happen that can't be explained) but told me to prepare it's not looking like things are in my favor. I go back in a week for another us unless I lose it before then.

I just don't understand how I can get pregnant so easily but my babies just don't seem to grow.

I had my first U/S this morning. The doctor won't see me until 11 weeks but referred me to a Christian Pregnancy Center for my U/S. It was a very interesting experience, but we saw the baby and saw the heartbeat. I am also measuring 4 days ahead.

Good Luck today ladies!!
