girls vs boys

a pregnant friend of mine just let me know she is going to use cloth and was asking for recommendations. I told her what works for us, but that every baby has a different shape. This might be a totally silly question, but are there any brands you found that work for one gender and not the other?  I'm so excited to buy diapers for her shower, but want to get something that works well for both. If it matters she thinks she will prefer AI2s. I steered her away from g-diapers as her only choice. I recommended best bottoms from things I have read on here, but don't have any myself.

    My son is only 11 weeks old but I've tried a bunch of different brands and I haven't found any that don't work on him.  Some are better at containing poo, but they all contain his pee.  I do point him down, though, so maybe if your friend doesn't do that it will make a difference.

    I have a boy and I really haven't found any that don't work either, but have no experience with girls, which is what she is having.

    I really think it's going to have more to do with the shape of the baby than the "parts" of the baby. But since I've only CDed a boy as well, I reserve the option to be wrong about this. lol

    I have a boy and found that the Kawaii Little Green Baby bamboo pockets were too narrow in the crotch. Once they were stuffed with the two NB bamboo inserts, they had gaps around his inner thigh. I think if he didn't have a package, it would fit fine. :P

    PS- They are supposed to be the same size and measurements as the Pure and Naturals, and people love them. I don't know why we had an issue....

    Not sure how they work for girls (we will find out soon!) but bumGenius works great for our son. He's 17 months, and we're still using the same diapers from when he was a newborn. He's 30 pounds now! My sister used bumGenius for her two boys without any complaints either.
