How early to have a shower??

Hi all,
I'm expecting twins in early May and I'm thinking I'd like my baby shower planned for mid February as they could arrive as early as end of March but we're thinking it'll likely be early April.. I live in the UK btw and baby showers have only become popular over the last few years. What are your ideas??

    Btw this is my second pregnancy. Our first child is 7 so we will need to have double of everything!

    We are having twins also and we are due April 11th and I am having my first shower Jan 18 (28 weeks pregnant) and last will be Feb 8th (31 weeks).. I wanted them done by 30 weeks just in case I am on bedrest and if I deliver early.

    TTC SINCE 7/2010, BFP-10/2010 ended in miscarriage 11/2010 : (.....
    Progesterone level 4/2011= 11.29. SA normal. HSG normal.
    8/11 Clomid 50mg=BFN progesterone level 35,
    10/11 Clomid 50mg =BFN progesterone level 31,
    11/11 Clomid 50mg=BFN progesterone level 12,
    12/11 Clomid 50mg=Progesterone 31
    01/12-Break from meds-BFN
    Feb-cd3 blood work FSH(5), AMH(0.56) 02/12 Break....
    03/01/12-Clomid 50mg with IUI #1=BFN.
    04/01/12-Another round of clomid with IUI#2=BFN.
    5/8/12-Diagnostic Laparoscopy-found minimal endometriosis and small fibriod.
    June and July-much needed break
    August-Bravelle 75 with IUI#3- BFN
    September-Bravelle injects with IUI #4-BFP!! MC 10/7/12 : ( Sonohysterogram-Normal
    December- Bravelle(3 good follicles & E2 1252) with IUI#5 BFFN :*(
    July IVF #1- BFP! : )  Beta #1-245, #2- 703, #3- 1655, #4- 3553 YAY!  Praying and Praying this one sticks around!
                      1st U/S scheduled for Aug 23rd!

    We are having a BOY & a GIRL !!

    I think there is never a correct time to have a shower.  There are a lot of personal reasons for having a shower at an earlier or later time.  I'm due April 4th, but my shower is November 23rd.  I will be travelling from New England to Canada for my shower.  I won't be able to travel to a different country during the third trimester, and travelling during winter (possible snowstorms) is dangerous.  It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, this is just the time that works.  I would talk to your host and find out what works for them and make a mutually acceptable time.

    MUD? A shower is to welcome a FTM to motherhood, not a charity event because you "need two of everything".

    She did say she's from the UK, so maybe there is different etiquette there?

    It's good to have a shower anywhere between 29 and 35 weeks.Any later you may not feel up to it... plus it's cutting it really close to getting the remainder of necessities you haven't already received before baby arrives.

    Actually, based on my research on UK-based forums, many (that. I've seen, anyway) seem to be very anti-shower in general. So, OP is just tacky.

    Aside from the second shower thing, twins showers should be held between 22 and 34 weeks, preferably around 25-30.
