I know it's a silly thing but it does get people talking about it. I Told DH the first year he did it to put his money where his mustache is and donate and collect donations for the cause and so he does!

Dh once shaved all but his stache off and wore a nasty 70s shirt to work because I bet him he wouldn't. It was funny but I stopped betting on things like that.
Last time DH was deployed he did full beard the other people called him the Gordon's fishermen! He shaved before he came home and some civilians on the base didn't recognize him. The other day he quickly dry shaved because he was only going to work for about an hour or so. Later when I say him he hadn't shaved moustache just beard...I almost freaked out on him about the pornstache!
Ugh I hate facial hair. My dad is about the only one who looks good with it and that's only because he has a chin to rival Jay Leno's. DH said he wanted to grow a stache and I said do you want to have sex, ever?
DH has been sporting a beard lately and I like it! Couldn't do mustache only, yuck.
growing up my dad was a fisherman, and had the long beard that all fishermen have. He shaved it one time and I was convinced he was my uncle. It took him an hour to convince me he was my dad! I was like 10 yrs old.
DH used to do a deployment stash...then he realized how creepy he looks with a mustache. He no longer grows any facial hair which is better for everyone.
I don't understand how looking like a creepy 70s porn star raises awareness for anything.
Just like all the stupid FB statuses women do every October. If you want to raise awareness and raise money, then go out and do something real.
@ThompsonHM2, it's great that your husband actually does do something besides the silly mustache thing.
I disagree with this. Raising awareness and raising money are two different things. Movember and think pink are to raise awareness. When you see something pink in October it does bring breast cancer to mind. Mustaches on people who don't normally where them brings movember in to mind and testicular cancer. Bringing it to mind may remind someone to get screened and may save a life. Anything to get people to check themselves is fine by me.
