GTKY: Your Bump name!

Not sure if we've done this already since I joined the board in October, but I've been wondering about some of the more obscure Bump names! What's the story behind your name? Feel free to join in even if your name is MrsSmith2010. We all need a reason to up our post counts, right?

Mine: Originally, my Bump name had personal info in it, as I hadn't intended to stick around for long or post on the forums AT ALL. I was just using the Knot for wedding planning. Mid-planning we found out we were expecting a little surprise, so I started to participate over here (TB). With #2 on the way, I got into it even more, so I decided it was time to ditch the personal info. Too bad I had no idea what to name myself. I just looked around the room. DD's old Easter basket had bluebirds on it and 2318 was the amount of hit points my online game character had at the time. (Nerd mamas, holla! :-B)

Mine is just my name, but like you, I had been using The Knot (as MOH though, not the bride). I just never bothered getting around to changing it to something more anonymous.

ETA: I'm glad you posted this! I often wonder about some of the s/ns too.

Well, my name is Lindsay so ...there's that lol. The "808" is because I grew up/was living in Hawaii at the time I made my Knot account. 808 is the area code and people that live there, take pride in it (getting tattoos of it, car stickers, etc.)

But now that I live in VA, it feels weird. I wish I could change it!

@Lindsay808 I used to work with someone who grew up in Hawaii and he mentioned the same thing: people who live in Hawaii take their Hawaiian pride very seriously!

If you actually do want to change it, you can e-mail community@thebump.com and say that you would rather you didn't have your real name in your Bump name and they should let you change it. Just give them the name you want to change it to and they will do it for you!

Mines a mash of my daughters nn and my first sons name. I created an account to ask a bf question and didn't plan on sticking around much longer. I wish I had thought of something "cooler":)

@emnoahmom I have a feeling that's how a lot of Bump names were started! There's something about TB forums that draws you in. Probably the easy access to loads of people who actually WANT to discuss being pregnant.

Kate is a nickname for my first name, lee is my middle name and stars are my FAVORITE thing in ever. (I have 18 tattoos & all of them have stars in them.. There are stars all over my house... It's an issue, lol.)

Redbirds is a nickname for the St. Louis Cardinals and I am a huge fan. 11 is because they won the World Series in 2011.

I don't like to clean clean, though I do like to pick up clutter. I can't concentrate with too much clutter. My cousin named me tidymonster one summer when I was babysitting them (I was 13) and always picked up their house. So, my forever sn is tidymonster.

I am slightly Rubik's Cube obsessed (solving, collecting, and teaching it), hence the Rubiks. Elf is one of the nicknames I call my puppy, short for Elfaba. Lots of happiness rolled into a little screen name.

@mummyofsix It might be harder because you don't have any personal info in your name, but still possible. I've seen a couple ladies go from one "anonymous" name to another. You just might have to e-mail a few times to catch the right person on the right day. E-mail community@thebump.com and let them know. Include the new name in the e-mail (might improve your chances if they don't have to get back to you about your new name).

Originally I signed up to lurk and used my full name-just recently created a new acct to have a more private name and used my old dance nickname from when I was younger.. There were three Chelsea's in my dance program.

Mine is from the Knot... when we got married we thought it was hilarious that our initials KE and GS spelled, well, kegs! And our wedding date was 10-2-10

I used to use the moniker "tuxmom" on other sites when our fur-baby Tucker was still alive, but now that I'm having a real baby, I've decided that I won't use his name as my tag...

Mine is because we are both military - Canadian Forces so that's the CF. The "von" is because our last name starts with that and the "fam" means family. So basically it means "the von family" and there's a nod to our military lifestyle.

This came up yesterday but mine is an old aim screen name I had in high school. I was like Jessie Spano because my name is Jessica, I'm tall, I was type A always trying to get straight As, and once took no-doze to stay up and study for a test. I guess now that I'm in my 30's I should maybe think of a new screen name!

Mine is kind of a funny story, Jessi is my first name (well Jessica) and back in highschool had a huge crush on a guy with the last name Maxwell so made Jessimax my email address when I created an account now it is my username for everything, just kind of stuck, even though I married someone different lol
