Stroller recommendations?

I'm leaning towards the Uppa Baby Vista or Quinny Buzz. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Re: Stroller recommendations?

  • Baby jogger city select! It's the only double that allows the back seat to see forward (instead of staring at the seat in front of it)

  • Thanks for all these recommendations
  • I have a Vista that we've used with DS #1 and love love love it. I would recommend it to almost anyone, except people in a city who use public transportation a lot. It's pretty big and heavy and I can't imagine dealing with it on subways and buses. But for suburban America, it's perfect.

    Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
    DH: perfect
    1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

    1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!

  • Everyone in our neighborhood has the Vista (or so it seems). I wanted something different. We are going to get a Peg Perego Book for this baby.

  • @MissLadyTay, that's the one I ordered for my LO! I'm so excited about my purchase. As for OP, I tried all the doubles the other day and I would go with the City.

Planning on getting this one too!! Were you able to find one in any of the stores to try it out or did you just order it based on reviews, etc?

I can't find it in any stores! But to me that's a good sign that it's a little rare! I'm buying it based on reviews and the fact that we had a cheaper Peg stroller (Vela) for our son and it was a great stroller. Could use it if we wanted but we have worn it out. We are in the city and put almost a full mile or two on it (minimum) every day.

I test drove it at Buy Buy Baby. It's the only store I could find it. It drives heavenly; so smooth and super easy to maneuver with one hand! Also, you can't beat the fabric they use on their strollers. It's great all around. I highly recommend it after driving about 15 strollers and folding and unfolding them on Tuesday.

  • The Britax B-Ready is in our Amazon cart, just waiting for me to get home and get my Amazon card to pay for it. The deal was too good to pass up, and the fact that it can be used as a double later on played a pretty significant part in our decision.

If you are interested in one that converts to double I would keep in mind that not all of them fold up when the second seat is on.  I know the Britax does but I do not think the City Select does.  Correct me if I am wrong but the second seat needs to be removed to fold?

  • Hello, Has anyone test drive the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller? It looks really good.
  • My kids are 15 months apart & we loved our Britax B Ready. Lifesaver!

    Great to know, thank you!
  • Second the city select baby jogger. It's the best and it is more decently priced than the uppa baby for the stroller and accessories.
  • I've just decided on my mama amd poppa one but can't remember the style name. I love it, it's light and folds easily and baby can face you or face away - you can change it.

I almost registered for this one, but they don't make an infant seat to click in.  I know you can get an adapter to work with other brands, but I don't have patience for that.  I prefer everything to be the same to it's just an easy click-in.

OP - We are going for the UPPAbaby Vista.  I know it's big, but the Britax B-ready seemed even bigger to me and DH in the store.
  • I LOVE my CityMini by Baby Jogger, I have the double version but it is a fantastic stroller. My sister just got a Peg Perego stroller and really loves it so far. Strollers are just one of those things that really come down to personal preference and what you are looking for. Hope you find something you love!

  • I really want the B-Ready but it just seems SO WIDE!!!!!!! We use it a lot indoors in the winter, so I think that will be an issue, but its still in the running.

Im thinking about checking out the Phil and Ted's Dot - narrower, double, but havent seen it in person yet.

  • I was pretty much set on the uppababy vista but now that everyone has been talking up the britax it's got me second guessing my first choice. I'm off to the store to test drive these strollers and see what's best for our lifestyle.

I highly recommend test driving before! Look at the size how it folds, etc. You will def find what works best for you that way!

  • The britax was by far superior to the uppababy and even the bugaboo. My mom and I drove all of of them and found that the britax and citimini were the best. Plus the price tag on both britax and citimini are amazing. I can definitely see why you ladies love britax so much. What a wonderful brand. The uppababy and bugaboo were just not a good fit for me at all.
  • Has anyone been able to find the B-Ready in a store? The stores I've called don't have a floor model, it's not usually even available for purchase in store. They seem to have the B-Agile. I'd like to try both, but I'm starting to lean towards the Agile because of the huge weight difference.

I got one with the amazon deal and I mean its close but it fits down my hallway and through all the doors in my house to bedrooms etc. If that means anything!

I agree. Plus I took a tape measure to it and the wheels make it 26" wide. I measured the City Mini in store and the wheels are 24" wide. I think it's the mud covers and the fact that the wheels on the B-Ready are so large that make it seem wider, because I had that same thought when I first put it together.

@RedInLove I went to a non-chain store here in Houston that has all the brands like Uppababy, Britax, City, Bugaboo, etc. on the floor. Have you tried looking for more local, specialty baby stores? I actually got the name of the one here from the Baby Bargains book. If you're close to a major metro area, I can look in there and see if it has a store recommendation for you.

It is pretty wide. I don't know how it compares to other strollers because it's the only one we've had, but there are times where I curse those back wheels. Mostly in department stores because we don't fit well between clothes racks and if we are downtown and stop for lunch somewhere, we are always having to make people move their chairs for us, which is super embarrassing. Places like Target, the mall, our neighborhood sidewalks, etc. we are fine, and this is where we use it 95% of the time.

@pandadair, I've been in AL for a few months but I should be back home in about a week. If there's anything for the Manchester, NH or Nashua, NH areas, that would be a good starting point! Thank you so much!

ETA: A friend recommended that book to me just yesterday, I'm going to have to get a copy as soon as I get home!

  • @RedInLove :( Unfortunately, no store recs in NH. They do recommend a store called Magic Beans in Boston, if you're ever in that area (I totally just Google mapped Nashua, NH). I'd definitely do some Googling and look for independent stores in your area, but it might take going to a larger city.

Baby Bargains has been really helpful, btw. Don't try to actually read through all the brand reviews, but they're really helpful once you've seen what you liked and want to compare.

  • Thank you for checking, I will definitely grab the book and do some looking around.

  • Buy buy baby has the agile and b-ready floor models to try. I actually liked the agile much better than the ready for for weight and bulk reasons. If I have another kid then I'll just buy another stroller. I wasn't that crazy about the ready's large back wheels and I didn't find it as easy to maneuver.
  • I love our bob. It's big but its great. Thank goodness for SUVs.

I agree with the mud flaps and honestly I took em off and put the back in the box I felt like they were more a nuisance than necessary!

@ABColeslaw Houston, actually :( . I've noticed a couple of other people on here mention being from the Boston area, though. 'Bout the closest I've been to living there was visiting frequently when my husband was temporarily stationed at Groton.
