I just want to eat lots of carbs.  My biggest aversion is actually to water.  I can't seem to drink it plain.  I've been trying to add a little splash of juice to give it some flavor.
No big cooking plans this weekend, but last weekend I made the most delicious pumpkin cookies.  My mother started making them we we were kids and they are soooo good.  I make them every fall.    DH likes when I sub the chocolate chips for raisins but chocolate chips are really the best. Now that we are adults we don't decorate them anymore, but that was fun when we were little. Here's the recipe: https://www.recipesource.com/desserts/cookies/11/rec1185.html

Here's a pic of them with decorations:

ETA: Take them out of the oven when they are still a little soft!

  • The hubby is traveling this week so I am just making our miso ginger salmon tonight with kale and Brussels sprouts. I'm on my own the rest of the week! Luckily I still like everything. Since being pregnant the only thing I've cut out are hard boiled eggs. I used to boil them for the week and take them to work but I don't like them anymore...
  • Being stuck in the hospital on bed rest I obviously can't cook anything, and I can only rarely satisfy cravings. If I could cook tonight I would make pumpkin soup! It is basically this recipe here, except I also add a little curry and cinnamon, and I serve it with a drizzle of heavy whipping cream:

  • Earlier this week, I made a huge batch of Alton Brown's peanut butter cookies. They're so so so good, although I still have trouble eating. I like BLTs, cucumbers, and avocado. Unlike @whoberry, it seems like water is just about the only thing I actually CAN drink, although I got giddy this afternoon when I made some decaf iced tea. Thinking about lunch... some pasta maybe? With spinach, artichokes, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella? Yes, please.

  • I'm making a double batch of lasagne tonight, one to eat this week and one to freeze. Carbs still rule my diet, although they are making me feel bloated and gross. It just helps with the nausea at work. I work in a restaurant so all the smells are really getting to me! I can literally walk by a table with wine and smell it, crazy!

Peppermint tea is my evening lifesaver too!

  • I am really into oranges right now... mmm fresh oranges, orange juice, orange flavored metamucil... haha

I'm still not into sweet stuff.

I made fajitas yesterday for a dinner party and now we having left overs tonight. Really simple, grilled peppers and onions, chicken, toppings, etc. I'm waiting for everyone else to get hungry so I can reheat and eat!

  • I haven't been craving much but food on general sounds good to me! I've really enjoyed fresh salads. I had a delicious mixed greens salad the other day with sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, and feta cheese. Yum!! I'm going to make that couscous recipe mentioned last week on one of the threads. Last week, the potato soup recipe I posted turned out really good! I made it in my le crueset Dutch oven though and it was ready in under an hour. Basically 1 pack frozen hash browns, 1 carton of chicken stock, 1 can cream of chicken soup, frozen corn (or a can), salt and pepper, cook until potatoes are soft and then add 8 oz cream cheese. Next time ill add some diced ham. Today I'm making cinnamon swirl banana bread. I've made it once before and it's so yummy! It was gone fast! https://erecipecards.blogspot.com/2013/08/swirly-cinnamon-banana-bread.html

  • 1) I haven't really been craving much of anything except instant grits, probably because it's all I can pretty much stomach.  I'm also OK with sweet things, like sugary candy, excluding chocolate, and some fruit, but only if it doesn't have a mushy texture.  2) I basically want nothing to do with anything that has much flavor at all and meat, all meat including fish....I just can't. 3)  I didn't cook it, in fact I had to go upstairs because the smell of it cooking was nauseating, but DH made this crock pot chicken pot pie recipe yesterday and said it was pretty good.  He poured it over Pillsbury biscuits instead of baking it in a pie crust to save time.  I just ate a plain biscuit for dinner uuuugh lol.  Anyway, he said it was pretty good, just needed a little more salt.

Oh, I wanted to post another go-to recipe we do here. MH is always asking for this and it's super easy. Turkey Meatballs: take a jar of your favorite pasta sauce and summer it covered in a large skillet. In a separate bowl, whisk one egg and 1/4 cup milk, add half of a small onion chopped, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1/2 cup grated parmesean cheese, salt and pepper, and few dashes of oregano. Add ground turkey meat and mix. Roll into meatballs and add to simmering sauce. Using a spoon, turn meatballsto coat with sauce. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile cook up pasta of your choice. Meatballs are so moist and flavorful!! Edit:spelling
