Babies r us registry promotion

Just wanted to let others know that babies r us has a promotion that if you sign up for a registry before November 15, you get 10% of the total money people spend off your registry on a gift card. You don't have to add anything when you sign up which is nice. I just made it and will add stuff later.

Re: Babies r us registry promotion

  • Thanks for the tip! That's awesome!
  • Loading the player...
  • I also got a coupon in the mail, that I have currently misplaced, that said you get a $10 gift card if you register by a certain date... and of course I don't remember the date and can't find the flyer, which I *know* I saved...
  • Check to see if that gift card applies to anything in the store or just bru brand items like diapers.
  • When I registered (just some basics for this promotion) I got two 5 dollar of 25 dollar purchase among a million other coupons and I've already gotten more offers in the mail. As a FTM I'm pretty excited about BRU and coupons! =)
  • So sad that this isn't available at the Canadian locations :( stupid BRU

I know! I keep checking just in case they offer something similar but no luck yet.

I think the unavailability has more to do with local regulations? I know here, living in New York State, we sometimes get excluded from certain offers.

  • Thanks for the tip... Looks like I need to make a trip before next weekend!!
  • Does anyone know if you can register at BRU and keep it private? This is our 2nd LO so we're not having a shower and don't expect gifts from anyone. However, I'd like to register as my own little checklist as well as take advantage of this promotion.  However, I would hate for friends or family to see that I've register and feel obligated.  I realize this is a little unlikely, however, it makes me cringe to think about. Just curious if an "secret" registry is available.

I don't think it can be secret, but how would anyone see it?

I realize it's unlikely, but I have a sister-in-law and DH's cousin (all with the same last name as me) that are PG w/ their 1st. I just envision a family member looking up a registry by last name and seeing mine.

  • I would just misspell the last name by 1 letter or use your middle name. Plus I wouldn't list a father's name.

    Oh, good idea! Thank you!

  • Just an FYI to the FTMs out there...BRU is often waaaay more expensive than other stores and/or Amazon.  It's really handy to go to and try things out, and it's handy for shower guests that like a brick & mortar store, but if you are buying stuff for yourself it is way more cost effective to get the items elsewhere most of the time.

That's what I've noticed. We've done our own shopping at a local baby store and online, but did a BRU registry for the ease of out-of-town family. I figure we can use whatever ends up on that giftcard for cheapies like wipes and onesies.

  • Not sure if you can make it private but you could just use a fake name. Then people wouldn't be able to look you up.

  • Thanks for the heads up! I went and registered just didn't put anything on it!

  • Oh, no. It is a gift card gift card... it can apply to anything. I registered formy last baby, mostly just for that gift card and the "completion discount." Obviously, no shower for my third baby... nor a sprinkle, LoL.
  • BRU does price matching fyi
