Hi

I'm a second time preemie mom. My little guy, Ozzy Joseph, was born last Friday, November 1st, weighing 3lbs 7oz and 16" long. I was pre-eclamptic and my bp was out of control (was hospitalized for 3 days, discharged the evening of 10/30 and admitted back on the morning of 11/1 for an emergency c/s). He was born at 31w5d. Overall, he's doing well. He's tolerating feedings mostly through an ng tube because he's getting really tired when bottle feeding. He lost down to 3 lbs but is back on the gain at 3 lbs 2.5 oz. We are told a couple weeks in the NICU. I had forgotten how emotionally draining having a baby in there is. All I want to do is take him home!
I also have a 10 yo daughter who is a former 29 weeker that was born at 1lb 13oz and 13.5". I went full on eclamptic with her.
During my c/s, my ob also found that my uterus had a hole along the incision site from 10 years ago and would have continued to rip open. So we were told absolutely no more children. It makes me a little sad, but obviously my body isn't meant to handle pregnancy and two preemies is enough for us. If we get a hankering for another, we'll go the adoption route.
Sorry for the long intro. I look forward to getting to know you all and offering support.

Re: Intro :)
I also keep dreaming of the time that we take Jacob home, but it's going to be a while for us since he needs breathing help and he's only finally tolerating his feeds. I'm hoping by January we can take him home! Are you going to pump? Svedka and I have a mini support group going with all the milk issues. I'm having a super hard time producing anything and got a referral yesterday to a specialist
Anyhow, keep us posted about Ozzy, he looks adorable and strong from the pics you posted!
Lots of thoughts and prayers for Jacob and that he gets to come home well before his due date!!
And as far as the breastfeeding goes, I cannot right now. I'm going to go fill my prescription for my pump, but due to the blood pressure meds I'm on, I was told I can't breastfeed while they're on board. I'm not really making any milk, either. But maybe if I can get it going, I can breastfeed when he takes me off this bp med!
As always, I'm here if ya guys need to commiserate!
