Any July 2014 Mamas out there looking for a secret facebook group? This group is open to anyone, only restriction is that you are due in July 2014. Come join a group of mamas looking for advice on pregnancy, babies, and life in general! This group is private and secret so no one will know you are there! (Well people outside of the group) If you are interested in joining please private message me your name and I will add you as a facebook friend (you may delete me right after I add you) and I will add you to the group!

OP. If you'd take 5 minutes to read some of today's posts you'd see that people do want a Facebook group EVENTUALLY. The first few weeks on any new BMB are like a revolving door. People come, people go . I personally am not going to take the leap into a Facebook group until we've been around awhile and have a more stable group of people. We have one with my last July BMB. and I love it, but it wasn't even created until March when everyone had had a chance to tell their families, the risk of a loss was significantly lower, and we had a pretty steady group of regulars.

Why don't you stay around awhile and get to know some of your fellow July 14 Moms before making huge move like this blindly.

Last time I checked, no one was jumping on anyone. They're just reiterating what has been said in multiple posts already.

OP, I'm sure that people will join your group. Just don't be surprised if not many people are interested at his point. FB groups can be fantastic and like others, I am in FB groups with women I've met here who are truly my friends. At this point, July '14 EDDs will still be getting BFPs in the coming weeks and unfortunately some will end up leaving us. IMO, FB groups should wait until we all know each other a little better but that isn't going to stop anyone from joining your group.

I totally agree w/waiting a bit before doing a FB group. When I was in the Dec 13 group, a FB page was made pretty early, and it turned into this "The Bump posters are meanie faces and snarky so let's make this FB page and complain about them all the time." It was kinda sucky, I had to leave that group before my m/c even happened.

I will say what I said on the last fb thread. I have had to bow out 4 separate times. I agree that it is way too early for a fb group. I would say no earlier than February.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions that is fine by me! Your right I have not introduced myself, nor have I posted anything. I am not a huge fan of the bump, I like a more personal setting such as facebook (my opionion) I reached out here because I know there are plenty of people out there like me that would prefer Facebook. I was correct as I have had several people reach out to me and would like to join. Not your cup of tea, thats fine move on. If you want to join message me. Either is fine with me.
With DD#1 I too waited a while to join a fb group, and this time I chose to join early as I wanted to start the connections now and not wait. Do what your comfortable with. If you change your mind just message me at anytime.

Thank you for the invite. I don't believe any of us meant to offend. I have fantastic and terrible experiences with the fb group. I found on there the attacks were more personal. On TB you're yacking at a sn. You don't have access to any personal info on here either. I personally want to form bonds here first before we move it to a more personal setting.

Ashley- there's no need to be rude. Seriously. "Lol-no"? Really? That make you feel better? We're all on here to share info and have others join in our journey. No need for snarky or rude comments. If something isn't your cup of tea- just move on. Don't try and belittle someone for only wanting to form closer relationships with women going through a similar experience. It's rude and pointless.

I'm also going to say what's rude is coming onto The Bump to recruit for a FB group. Just make a group on FB, title it July 2014 Moms...people will come. No reason to come here if you're not going to participate just to lure away my potential new BFFs.

OP: I'm guessing you'll get more interest as our pregnancies progress. Sadly some of us will have losses, and many of us probably want to get to know each other here before letting virtual strangers have more access to our personal lives.

I hope you remain a part of the board, though, and share the experience with us!

Aww, this makes me sad. I loved my fb group from my previous bump birth month group and regretted not having joined sooner. I am in the group now. I know fb isn't for everyone. Personally, fb is just easier for me. I made some great connections on my old group and hope to with this birth month as well.

Why are you sad? Plenty of people have said they are willing to join a FB group, but at a later date. It's too soon, we barely know eachother. Plus..we have RIGHT HERE to get to know eachother.

I can use discretion on the information and photos I share on the board. I totally understand wanting to wait, I waited with my last pregnancy. And I don't think I need to wait to join to be able to have a positive experience. re: "Good things come to those who wait"

I think I'm with the majority here, I'll wait a little longer to join a FB group. I'm still involved in my previous BMB Facebook groups and hope this will turn into another great group once we're a bit farther along.

Anyways, I didn't mean for this to be a big thing. I completely understand why a lot of people don't want to join so early. I just wanted it out there that it isn't all negative so that if there were members out there interested in joining, they knew it isn't stupid of them to join.

Mainly I worry about all the people that will come and go unfortunately. I'm already sad when I see losses here and ladies leaving. If I knew their real name MY HEART WOULD BREAK.

It's not just the losses. There will be hundreds (300+) of intros this month and by 2nd and 3rd tri it'll thin out to 100-150 participants with maybe 80 key participants.

Very true...we had over 400 people in our FB group and it was formed almost after everyone had their babies.

It's just hard to manage privacy in a FB group that large. You're posting photos, employer and family rants, relationship issues. And all of these connections are just a click away. I've seen some crazy things happen.

Once it gets down to a core group, I'll be more comfortable with the idea. But 400 people with some sort of access to who I am (quick google will pull up Linked In) and my personal connections. No thank you.

Maybe that's it. Our group was always large. It only recently got smaller (16 months after babies born) due to some drama. Before I left it was at well over 250. So my experience is that time doesn't really matter,.

Wooooow! I just joined this site...some of you ladies are mean! This is the second post ive seen about facebook that has jumped all over the OP. Why jump all over someone for wanting to make a Facebook group? She didn't say you had to join! Yikes!! I will go back to what to expect now. Geeesh!
