I have been trying to give DD more "real" food instead of purees all the time. She'll often get pieces of banana for breakfast, and whatever we're having for supper if it's appropriate for her. However, a lot of the time she'll just cram her mouth full before she swallows what's already in there, and then she just ends up with a mouth full of food that takes her forever to swallow! Last night I gave her corn and some shredded chicken. She looked like a little chipmunk with her mouth full of food.
She loves puffs, but now I'm worried that since they dissolve/mash up easily, she's not learning how to chew her food properly. I'm also worried that there might be a greater risk of choking with all that food in her mouth at one time. Do any of your LO's do this?
