1st Trimester

I feel gross, tired, queasy and moody.

I also have a reoccurring head ache that sort of makes slamming your hand in a car door sound like fun. I am having mood swings that resemble Norman bates in Psycho "We all go a little mad sometimes....."   I used to LOVE coffee and going on 2 weeks it is making me atrociously sick to smell it, so lord knows I'm not touching the stuff.  I'd rather go dumpster diving. I'm 100% positive I can't sit in my office without being around the smell in the mornings so thank god I can work from home on my sore and stagnant tush. In fact, I have a new power "super senses" but they are not super helpful or super fun. I mean COME ON, I'm not going to save a man in a burning building or stop a robbery because franky I'm too tired and bloated. ALL food tastes like Soylent green.  I fall asleep like a rock - one relief is going to bed and knowing I will have the 8 hours of pure konked out bliss at night. Ugh...I remember this from my First baby, but I guess after a couple of years the mind really does sort of block out the worst parts. :( They say misery loves company, so heres your chance ladies unload...

  • Everything there sounds exactly like me from week 5-7.

  • yup sounds normal to me.....i have actually gotten better the last week or so (knock on wood!!)
  • I agree with everything you wrote.  If I don't eat right away, I get the heaves, which in turn make me not want to eat, which just makes me heave more.  If I do eat, I burp all day.  It's a wonderful thing.

  • Anyone have a head cold in the 1st tri? Ugh. Feel helpless without meds. Bought a vaporizer today, but haven't seen any change yet.
  • Oh man, me too! All of this plus my boobs are KILLING me. Seriously, I stand up and they hurt. I sit down, they hurt. I roll over in bed, they really hurt. Heaven forbid that I do any kind of jumping. Ever. At that point, I pretty much curl up into the fetal position and try not to cry. It makes my toddler nervous.

  • just got over my head cold. THE WORST THING EVER! try this herbal tea called Nettle tea. it should be in the medicinal tea section at a healthfood store. also get local honey as a sweetener. vix vapor rub gave me some relief also
  • I just hit the 6 week mark and I am feeling awful.  I work 12+ hour shifts and tonight has just been brutal.  Luckily, it's slow so I just have to sit at the desk and try not to vom on anything.  I've come close though.  I'm hungry, but NOTHING sounds good.  I'm eating a couple of saltines as I type.  I am normally a huge coffee drinker - can't do it now.  I'm a walking zombie, I would love to sleep all day and night!  My boobs feel like bricks...bricks that hurt.  Yeah.  I'm really hoping this doesn't last long.

  • Thanks I will try the nettle tea!!

I hear ya with the boobs too!!! terrible! My husband constantly reminds me of "how good" they look to him! Which just annoys me cuz he has no clue how awful they feel! ahhhh

  • I am on week 9 and feel so exhausted and natious if I do not eat. I have been eating so much. For example, this morining I had a plain waffle, halfcaff coffee, and a bow of cereal. I then got hungry an hour later and made myself french toast with sliced apples. Now it is 11:30 pm and I have four bagel bites in the oven. Is this increase of appetite normal and safe?
