Foods you once loved making you sick

As of this weekend if i get even the slightest sniff of garlic i am in gag central.... My boyfriend made meatloaf Saturday night and the smell of it set me off... the next day i opened the fridge and smelled it ran as far as possible... i love garlic.. this sucks!!!! I'm giving carrying a little vampire.


any one else having issues with any specific foods?

  • Right now, just chicken, which we used to eat a lot. I went grocery shopping yesterday and couldn't even stomach putting the packaged chicken into the cart.

    My super smell has made it near impossible for me to open one of my cabinets because I keep fresh garlic in there... it's not so much that it turns my stomach but the smell is just overwhelming!

    i wish this was my issue!!! all i want is mcdonalds and chic fil a!! luckily i've told my boyfriend no matter how much i beg that we cannot allow me to eat junk food hahaha

  • Nothing really making me sick but I am not craving my usual go-to foods. Prior to pregnancy I was an ice cream fanatic. I haven't had ice cream in over two weeks and I don't even miss it.

  • Mexican food! I used to be able to eat it every day.... Now I can't even stand the thought of it!
  • Coffee :( I love coffee, especially dunkin donuts' pumpkin spice coffee in the fall. Now the thought and smell makes me sick :(

  • The smell of onions and peppers cooking let alone them being in my recipes :( I frequently used those up until now. Recently warm foods gag me to death and a big bowl of ice cold cereal (fruit loops particularly lately) is the only thing that sounds good all day long. In fact I will probably go home and have that for lunch!

  • I have heard alot of people say they crave the salty large order of McDonald's fries! They are they best, but grease is not my favorite thing these days. And  my husband hates that I refuse to fry stuff now.. its just gross at this point.

  • Bananas! Even typing it now makes me sick to my stomach. I took two bites of one this morning and had to run to the bathroom.. Idk if it's the texture or what but I just can't stomach it anymore!
  • Cakes, popcorn, Indian food ( I LOVE Indian food) Chocolate, nuts as of this morning. I ate them yesterday this morning I went to pack them, it was a no go. 
  • Any meat, tomato sauce, the smell of coffee... All I want is bagels and I never was much of a carb eater before! Have to force myself to eat veggies and peanut butter/protein
  • I was just about to ask this question.

    Fried chicken! I work with all men and they get this a few times a week! Then they put in my mini fridge. I had to start telling them it is full because I can smell it through the closed door.

    Then last night, my husband picked up a roasted turkey Breast I asked for. I got home and it smelled like the fried chicken. I didn't have the heart to tell him I couldn't eat it. I ate some crackers and went to bed.

    I guess I am going to have to make something of it, or through it in the freeze for later.
  • I can not eat hummus anymore. I also used to eat eggs for breakfast every day but now I can't stomach them before noon. I have been eating a lot more carbs lately

  • I used to be an avid tea drinker and ice cream eater, but haven't touched either in 2 months. I'm just strarting to be able to reincorporate foods I used to eat back in my diet since my MS is starting to get better, but for a solid 6+ weeks it was just plain toast, cereal and mashed potatoes!
  • leftovers...I was the leftover queen! I'd happily eat leftovers for lunch for days, but now the thought makes me sick. I

  • Eggs in the morning make me gag. I used to eat eggs every morning but not anymore.

    I also used to HATE ketchup. Now I love it, I can't get enough ketchup

  • Anythign sweet! I used to LOVE sweets, but I just can't eat them anymore. Also, I have loved the chik fil a salads....another thing I can't even THINK about anymore. All I want is cheese, pizza, and garlic bread. Which is funny because you mentioned you DON'T want garlic bread right now.

  • Almost everything makes me sick!  I'm living like a 5 years old - cereal for breakfast, goldfish crackers and granola bars for snacks, pb&j for lunch, and usually more cereal for dinner!

    The saddest, though, is coffee.  I can't even think about it without feeling ill.
    This is me.  Trying to feed my little one is a challenge some days (he is 21 months).  At least it changes daily so most of the time if I start looking at something or a smell gets me I can change it up and try something else.

  • All the stuff I want turns my stomach when it arrives. I made my husband take me to my favorite Italian place for some veal Guiseppe and I took two bites. it is going bad in the fridge. I need to bring myself to eat it!

  • I can't eat popcorn or grilled chicken anymore. I can do fried, but the thought of grilled chicken grosses me out. I'm making chicken spaghetti tonight, but going to pass on the chicken. I'm losing interest in coffee too which is tragic.

  • Anything sweet, or really anything at all. I'm in my own personal hell this time around. It was bad with my son but I forgot how icky this is!! :((
  • Coffee for me too :( oh how I wish I could drink a cup of coffee. Had a half a cup of hot tea this morning and if was ok, not the same. But something really weird, the thought of pretzels (regular old pretzels) makes me want to vomit, even just thinking about them!!!
  • Also anything that "lingers" like garlic or onions, can't take them either and usually love
  • Coffee and dessert aversion here too! Loving anything cheesy, salty, and OJ.
  • There are so many things, but the latest is green beans. Oh my goodness! I thought I was going puke all over myself yesterday. So weird, because I LOVED the first couple bites.
  • Cooked mushrooms! The texture makes me want to barf! And leftovers - I have a hard time with this because I normally make a lot of something so we have lunches for the week and I can't bring myself to eat them. And then I end up going out and getting something to eat and spending money that I should be spending.

  • Chicken and anything fried. I use to live on chicken! I can't see it, smell it even thinking about it makes me sick. Same for fried food, can't even smell fast food.

  • My baby hates meat!!! With my first my aversion was just to beef (and it only lasted the first trimester, thank goodness) but this pregnancy it's any meat. I made oven roasted ribs (that slow cooked for three hours!!!) and practically had to choke them down. Also couldn't stand the chicken and cheese stuffed crescent rolls I made yesterday and they were delicious! It's so weird because it all tastes so good and every time I put meat in my mouth, I get nauseous.

    Used to be able to eat half a package of saltines in one sitting. Now just the smell of them makes me sick. Substituted them with goldfish crackers and that seems to do the trick :). Also, all I want is pizza and sweet potato fries! Go figure. Trader joes has these great personal cheese pizzas that cure the fix.

  • Ugh garlic and marinara sauce!!! Loved them before and now not so much.
  • Kale makes me want to vomit and i used to eat it every day before I was preggo!!!
  • Bread. Apparently I can't eat bread anymore.
    But LOVING dill pickle chips which is super random to me
  • Not wih this pregnancy but with my first I couldn't even hear about, see or smell beans cheese or meat it was horrible!!!!!!!!!! Before I was pregnant I thought oh these exaggerated women, but now I can totally understand it
  • I'm the exact same way with Kale and nearly all veggies!! I was a HUGE veggie lover, now I'm eating next to nothing green because just the thought nearly has me gagging! It's been yogurt, oranges and saltines for 5 days straight! That's about all this blueberry in my belly will tolerate. Doesn't seem nearly as nutritious as Kale, does it?
